MD review in The Guardian

Post by Adolphus »

This recent review (https://www.theguardian.com/film/2017/a ... -rerelease ) of Mulholland Drive in the Guardian contains this quote about Lynch: " I admired Lynch’s access to the darkest recesses of his psyche, and the consistency and richness of his obsessions, but I detected traces also of Eisenhower-era nativism, white-picket-fence fascism and plenty of misogyny. " This made my blood boil- and in an article that's supposedly positive! I really can't believe such drivel is allowed in a major newspaper- it's cowardly kowtowing to those unthinking and censorious forces at work in society- trying to cudgel everything into a square peg.
