Engineer - "What the hell"
Wasn't an actor. This guy was a foreman at the Weyerhaeuser mill at the time of the shooting. Last time I visited the area, I ran into a former mill worker (near Ronette's Bridge / Sparkwood & 21) who'd been around when the pilot was being filmed. The "What the hell" character was this guy's boss. Damn me for not having recorded the conversation or otherwise taken notes. I have zero recollection of any names... :-/

Such sad news. I interviewed her a few years ago for Jerry's Twin Peaks Archive site and remember having a really good conversation with her. RIP.

Clark Middleton (Audrey's husband(?)) has passed.

Aw, man. His performance as Charlie was a comic masterpiece. I hope to raise a glass with him one day in Valhalla.

I always loved Middleton's work in pretty much everything. His passing seems genuinely shocking to me. I was just thinking of him earlier today, as I was about to rewatch Snowpiercer.

Really sad. When I rewatched season 3 last year, he was by far what benefited the most from seeing the show without being obsessed with the ending.

I hated episode 12 the first time, but thanks to him I loved it the second time. His acting was subtle and funny, perfect for Lynch. RIP.

How terrible. I’ve been very busy and only just now saw this sad news.

The Audrey and Charlie riddle might have received the highest amount of speculation next to us wondering if/when Cooper would wake up, all the way from its maddening (at the time) introduction to Audrey’s dance floor freakout. I made a poll about this mysterious situation, just to find out what people were thinking, and the thread ended up going and going and going with conversation/speculation. One thing we can say about Charlie; he’s NOTHING LIKE BILLY.

The deadpan reactions to Audrey’s emotional outbursts were hilarious and perfectly acted by Middleton.

Don’t get me started on mosquito borne viruses. These things are no joke.

Sad, sad news. Rest in peace mr. Middleton, and condolences to his family. He was great in S3, and from what he has accomplished personally throughout his life, he was a true warrior, with a conduct for all of us to learn from.

Aw man, I loved Lenny and Squiggy when I was a kid. I actually went on a Squiggy binge this summer after someone made a Pine Weasel joke here and I felt compelled to watch the Pine Weasel scene. I went on to watch a lot of old clips from Laverne & Shirley of Linder in his famous duo with Michael McKean, and I also read about his life. David Linder and Michael McKean were an independent comic team, and they were at a party with Peggy Marshall and Cindy Williams (Laverne & Shirley), and the producers of the upcoming show were there as well. Linder and McKean did an impromptu comedy bit as this pair, and right then and there it was decided to make the characters a part of the show.

R.I.P.

That sucks. He was far from my favorite Peaks character, but he was a talented comic actor who was great in many other projects (including On the Air).
