What is the most horrible translated German episode title (season 1)?

Post by Dalai Cooper »

thought it would be fun to give this its own thread and settle this once and for all. Remember you are voting for the WORST, but feel free to use this thread to advocate for ones you think are actually not so bad.

I will do a poll for season 2 as well, which will be a more difficult choice - I think there's a pretty clear "winner" among this lot.

Zen, worst. Rest in Pain, close second.

A true hero of this board    I'm throwing away my vote for ep7... while not as bad as certain failed attempts at punning, it's not actually a last evening for anyone involved...

Haha yes! I feel like some of the more generic-seeming ones really don't stand up to scrutiny, but they'll slip under the radar as everyone votes for the obvious ugly titles

Right?? Fun new fanfiction challenge, give a new home to these titles by writing stories that actually fit them...

Zen, or the Skill to Catch a Killer is the worst by far. I like Traces to Nowhere a lot.
This is - excuse me - a damn fine cup of coffee.

"Rest in Pain" is the only one that truly makes me cringe, so that one got my vote.

"Zen ... " and "Realization time" are both very dumb but have an awkward charm that appeals to me.

"Traces to Nowhere" is actually excellent, and "The One Armed Man" is inoffensive. The others are pretty bad.

Hmm, a difficult choice! Rest in Pain is a big offender just for the sheer dumbness of the pun. I don't have that much of a problem with Zen, despite its silliness, maybe just because I attach it so much to that episode by now for some reason. It's lame but innocuous. Realization Time, however? Bland AND stupid.

Impossible to choose between Rest in Pain and Realization Time. Actually no, it's Realization Time.

I mean, to be clear, these are translated-from-German titles, right? I think that accounts for at least some of the more embarrassing ones.

Realization time. It's not even a bad pun. It's just plain bad and silly.

Speaking of... does anyone have a quick link to the original German titles? I'd like to see how the puns fare in their original language.
