Hello everyone! Been lurking for a while, might as well say hi

After some sleuthing, I suspect that the source of that tweet might be this article, or a similar one related to the upcoming London Book Fair, where the book is said to

place the unexplained phenomena that unfolded in Twin Peaks in a layered, wide-ranging history, beginning with the journals of Lewis and Clark and ending with the shocking events that closed the finale

I certainly wouldn't mind a more detailed account of Lewis and Clark's "strange detour to the north" which was already mentioned by the Access Guide!

Well, there's two different takes on the supposed content - one said it would fill in some of the gaps of the last 25 years, this logline implies it might not. I'm hoping the truth is in the middle. After all, if as rumored the book contains 'emails', those would have to come from after the series.

This sounds really intriguing and it is in line with the title of the novel. I still think it will contain some events of the last 25 years, as it's implied in the description. (a novel that deepens the mysteries of that iconic town in ways that not only enrich the original series but readies fans for the upcoming Showtime episodes.)

"Merriwether Lewis and William Clark, guided by the Shoshone Sacagawea, became internationally famous for navigating a path across North America to the Pacific Coast. In a diary entry of June 13, 1805, Lewis wrote that he saw 'two mountains of a singular appearance and more like ramparts of high fortification than works of nature'. Lewis must have been referring to Twin Peaks! It's been postulated that shortly after leaving the area of present-day Missoula, the expedition made a strange detour to the north as shown on this map."

You'll have to track down the book to see the map!

I definitely see the potential for further investigation into their strange detour north. I'd love to see the mythology expanded upon in this new book.

Unfortunately the cheapest I can find the Access Guide in the UK is £65 on Amazon. A little bit too steep....

Map! I hope all books get their due reprints because the Access Guide is as brilliant as it is, currently, unreasonably priced. Sometimes there's a copy floating around for 25 bucks or so but it's a rare occasion, I was lucky.

I'm telling myself that this latest blurb is incorrect in the same way the game of telephone played by the news sites often ends up making a mess of the news they relay... that they were trying to say something like "...and it expands on the mystery of the cliffhanger" and it came out wrong. Hopefully! Having a book cover all the lives of the townsfolk that the new season won't have time to narrate is such a smart idea, I really hope we haven't been misled all along!

Whether the book covers events from 1800 to 1989 or from 1800 to 2014, though, I still wonder... what's the underlying theme, what's its structure going to be? The access guide covers EVERYTHING from Lewis&Clark to owl cults to the population sign to Hawk's football triumphs under the theme "tourist guide". What's this Secret History going to focus on?
