I love this episode! So many great classic scenes sprinkled throughout! Below is a link to the recap I wrote for #6. Poor Waldo!

Thoughts on Mulholland Drive
I had the pleasure of being invited by Twin Peaks Unwrapped to discuss this terrific film for a podcast. The conversation inspired me to write down my observations on the film.

I completely agree, I loved it! Jen did a great job.FauxOwl wrote:She directed the most recent episode and it was definitely one of the best of the series so far.

Re: Episode 5
Mark Frost's hand is evident in the procedural layout of this episode, which personally I like. Maybe not as much as I like David's style, but Mark's clarity keeps the viewer entertained along with further developing the mystery. All in all, real good stuff! Here's my recap for episode 5 http://twin...

Re: Cooper's lost soul
Great topic! I am very interested to see how the new episodes will address this issue. Personally, I think Cooper's biggest undoing was not facing his doppelganger with courage in the Black Lodge. After reading the My Life, My Tapes book, I was left with the impression that Bob (or like spirits) wan...

Re: Log Lady intros
I really love the Log Lady intros. I think they sort of set the mood for mystery and are just fun in general. My favorite is the first one when she says Laura was the "one" and she knew her. Catherine will be missed.

Re: The Tojamura Twist
That's a great interview with Piper Laurie. I don't remember if I knew at first or not, but I always loved that plot twist. Definitely one of the highlights of season 2 and poor Pete spilled his milk.

Re: Lost vs. Twin Peaks - A Comparison
It's true that in 1992 no one cared about Twin Peaks. Although I was probably too young to see it, I did see FWWM in the theater and very few people were there. But I wonder had David not directed the final episode of season 2 and sort of saved the mythology of the show, would fans have stayed so lo...

Re: Lost vs. Twin Peaks - A Comparison
While I admit that it was a stretch to compare Lost and Twin Peaks, I think there are a lot of lessons to be learned. Both shows shared a similar mystique and amassed an extremely loyal following. I decided to write a post about Lost for it's anniversary because I loved the show, but also because wh...

Re: Wishes...Hopes...& Dreams
I'm trying not to have any expectations, because Lynch/Frost could surprise us in a way no one will see coming. However I think it will be fascinating to find out if Cooper is still trapped in the black lodge & how Mark Frost's book will fill in the gaps. I anticipate a darker feel like FWWM as ...

Re: Lost vs. Twin Peaks - A Comparison
I agree Fauxowl, the critics of Lost are legit. Despite how much one reaches to connect the dots, there will always be elements that don't add up. Season 6 felt like a lot of gimmicks. I think people are hard on Lost because it was given the opportunity by ABC to write its own end, so expectations w...

Re: Lost vs. Twin Peaks - A Comparison
axemblue4 there is nothing erroneous about anything I wrote. If that is your opinion, that is fine and I do respect your take on Lost and honestly agree with a lot of it. However I think you misunderstood where I am coming from. 1st of all, if I didn't love Lost why would I take the time to write su...

Re: Lost vs. Twin Peaks - A Comparison
I can assure you that I was not a casual viewer of Lost. I was a die hard fan who took the ride whole heartedly. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but Lost did need that "ah ha" moment because of how layered its mythology was. The problem was Lost, lost its way. There were some good m...

Re: Lost vs. Twin Peaks - A Comparison
I agree with you totally Jonah and laughed at the "wrap party" comment. Personally I hated the church scene, but not because I'm not interested in the afterlife. To me, I think Lost would have been better off ending in a more science fiction type of way. The church scene was too convention...
