Re: What is your Twin Peaks unpopular opinion?

While reading through the thread that Soolsma reminded us of, Reindeer commented on BOB and how his climbing over the couch moment at the end of episode 9 still scares him after three dozen rewatches. Everybody talks about that couch scene - it's a shoe-in for finishing near the top of lists of the...

Haha, realizing that I said almost literally the same thing about the Pilot in the same words in this thread, four years ago!! God, where did the time go.

Re: To the Profoundly Disappointed: Are You Still Disappointed?

Yeah Mark has said it was basically the first two aired hours (although stuff obviously got moved around in editing and changed during shooting). That def wouldn’t have been close to 300 pages though. They’re talking about the final shooting script.

Re: To the Profoundly Disappointed: Are You Still Disappointed?

Lynch added like 200-300 pages to the script he had written with Frost. But even Frost made some odd choices (to me anyway) so I don't think it would ever have felt like the original series or a direct Season 3. Pardon my faulty memory, but where are you getting these specific numbers from, or the ...

Re: To the Profoundly Disappointed: Are You Still Disappointed?

Lynch's own recollections of Brando in Room to Dream arent that flattering either. he handed like a peeled sticker off an apple he was eating to Mary Sweeney at one point and said 'i have a gift for you' i seem to recall. I think he turned it into a ring, heh. Lynch seemed fond of him, though. I th...

Re: To the Profoundly Disappointed: Are You Still Disappointed?

Oh, I LOVE Forster’s deadpan reactions. Honestly, he provides some of the best comedy in TR, and makes some of the dumber comedy scenes way funnier. Solid gold. And I’ll never get tired of making note of the fact that Forster worked with Brando and thought he was kind of a dick, which just makes it ...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

yeah, i cant remember if I read it was monkeys or cows, but he seems to gravitate between those, with Dream of the Bovine also. Lynch was able to have a low cost talking money in What Did Jack Do, worked fine for me. Fair point! There’s also the anthropomorphic undead pig in Ronnie Rocket who says,...

Re: What is your Twin Peaks unpopular opinion?

Twin Peaks started off great with the pilot episode and slowly gets worse and worse until we get to the return where it's confirmed that Lynch/Frost really don't/ didn't know what made Twin Peaks great in the first place. Also: Gordon Cole was always a horrible addition. That is possibly the best g...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

It sounded like Antelope (like Ronnie Rocket) involved a lot of effects he would have needed a bigger budget for. Not huge, but not “personal project” level.

Re: To the Profoundly Disappointed: Are You Still Disappointed?

Re: cream corn. Both Lynch and Frost seem to remember things their own way (and Bob Engels remembers things radically differently depending on what day you ask him). Memory is such an interesting and tricky thing. I think I’m repeating myself (although if I have said this before, it was during a le...

Re: Production budget/cast salaries, etc.

I wonder why they didn't get to renegotiate for Season 2. I imagine some of them might have and maybe Kyle did okay by it, and some of the more prominent young cast members, but I've always heard none of them were making much on it. No clue. I wonder if this ever came up in Brad’s interviews for hi...

Re: Production budget/cast salaries, etc.

It seems weird that apparently the cast got the short end of the stick on salaries considering the budget. I know the cast was huge - which would have contributed to smaller salaries - and many were local hires with not much previous roles, but it's still a shame. They never even got to make a big ...

Re: Budget

In a Usenet post from near the end of season 2 (when the show was cancelled), Scott Frost’s relative relayed that the average budget was $1.3 million an episode.
