Re: General Discussion on Season 3 (All Opinions Welcome)

I wonder if anybody has mentioned this. S3 has at least one Arthurian reference - Lancelot Court - and I believe another, correct? I was watching "Knightriders" the other day, a movie I'd never viewed despite being a Romero fan. (SPOILER) The movie's characters are inspired by the King Ar...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

I personally have no qualms with TP having a new season on Netflix -- I'd just hate for the entire season to get released at once. That model seems to work well with certain shows (OITNB, Stranger Things), but I really enjoyed having a week to sit with each individual episode of S3.

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

There's still no guarantee they'll want Twin Peaks for this, but CBS' new streaming service needs marquee content *badly* after the weak performance of CBS All Access. With David and Mark still leaving the door open, it wouldn't surprise me at all if CBS/Showtime greenlit season 4 to add to the all...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

This is just blind speculation on my part, but I wonder if the all the CBS/Viacom merger stuff would potentially be hindering any talks with Lynch/Frost over a new season. The fact that Showtime canceled Ray Donovan seems to not bode well for the chances of a Season 4, I think. Also, the reports of ...

Re: Part 15 - There's some fear in letting go (SPOILERS)

Not sure if this is relevant to anything, but one thing that always stick out to me about Norma's interaction with Walter is his insistence on the Double R restaurants carrying Norma's name ("Norma's RR Diner"). Norma refuses obviously, but I can't help but think this is somehow in contras...

Re: The biggest problem with The Return - the fear/mystery element largely missing?

I think Mr. C might have been more of a Windom Earle re-do than any sort of recreation of BOB/Leland. That probably wasn't Lynch/Frost's intent, but Mr. C's quest for JUDY was primary narrative thrust of S3, much the same as Windom Earle's search for the Black Lodge structured the last 6 or so eps o...

Re: just rewatched MD

for the fourth time...wow, personally this is my favorite lynch work. questions for y'all this time around: 1. why do you think betty disappears right before rita opens the blue box? 2. how do you guys explain some of the more tangential scenes like the hitman screw up sequence / pool cleaner stuff...

Re: LMFAP original season 3 script page!

I think maybe the original idea was an unnerving symmetry. This is done also in The Missing Pieces - the trio of scenes where LMFAP repeats the line of returning home. But I'm glad we got what we did, too. Mike's repetition of his Fire Walk With Me poem is, and this is the real risk of the idea of ...

Re: What would a Season 4 be about?

Might see a "Many Sons of Newark" style flashback into the past where Harry, Hawk, Hank, Ed, Norma etc are high schoolers in the late 60s/early 70s, Leland and Sarah a young couple new to town getting ready to have a baby, Ben cheating on Sylvia with Doc Haywood's wife, etc, while Coop ja...

Re: LMFAP original season 3 script page!

Now I am curious what the original plans were for Philip Gerard -- maybe he was only supposed to appear at the end of ep. 17, where he recites his poem and guides Cooper to Philip Jeffries?

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

Season 4: Shelly falls into a deep depression when "Invitation to Love: The Return" premieres and largely abandons it's late 80's soap opera roots.

Re: Twin Peaks and Watchmen

Watchmen most closely resembles Lindelof's own Leftovers in its structure and post-crisis alt-present world, as well as Westworld in its puzzle-box withholding of twists as well as sci-fi topicality. I haven't listened to the podcast yet, but episode 6 of Watchmen seems to be indebted to Twin Peaks...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

It seems the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has created a bit of an appetite for shows about showbiz in the 1950's -- perhaps On The AIr: The Return could capitalize on that? I really don't feel like there will be a S4 of Peaks. The ending of S3, however messy and inconclusive it might feel at times, brings ...

Re: Twin Peaks and Watchmen

There's obviously a lot of differences between TPS3 and Watchmen, but there has been something vaguely S3-ish about the way Watchmen has allowed the Ozymandias plot to blossom patiently without a clear point or endgame in mind. Although last night's episode did a lot to actually explain his storylin...
