Re: Episode 2

Finished a rewatch of Episode 2. Best episode of the first season, after the Pilot. While I may not be completely in love with the new series, all my favourite episodes of the original show are the Lynch directed ones. This is great from beginning to end. Nothing really to add to comments already wr...

Re: Episode 1

Rewatched Episode 1. Not much to add. The comments on the first page of this thread are particularly excellent and insightful. It's a very good episode, interesting mix of cozy and menacing. Its narrative really expands out from the pilot and begins adding layers and storylines to a lot of elements ...

Re: The Pilot

I still haven't rewatched the new series, but decided to start rewatching the original series. Just finished the Pilot. Amazing episode. I don't think it will ever be truly topped. It stands outside the series as its own amazing entry. There is wonderful stuff to come, but this is a very special mov...

Re: General Discussion on the New Series (All Opinions Welcome) (SPOILERS)

I loved that scene too! And I'm fine with the scenes themselves for the most part. My issues are more with the look of the room, mainly the curtains and how bright it is. I think it affects the vibe. Just rewatching some of "The Missing Pieces" at the moment - and the difference in red roo...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

Sorry to go off-topic but can someone point me in the direction of the main thread about The Missing Pieces - I've searched through the forum and can't find it. Thanks in advance. There's one under the FWWM thread, but seems to be only 10 pages or so long. I remember a much longer one. Also, is ther...

Re: General Discussion on the New Series (All Opinions Welcome)

I on the other hand, like the Red Room much better this time. The old one needed some updating. More importantly, what is going on in the Red Room in The Return is also more interesting to me. Episode 29 was great for its day, but a lot of it frankly felt like a last curtain call for characters lik...

Re: General Discussion on the New Series (All Opinions Welcome) (SPOILERS)

Very much agree. It was a treat to see Coop with Laura in there again - and I'm fine with the choice about the new arm/tree - but the place lacks substance and style now. It just doesn't feel otherworldly and mysterious. There's a more videogame/sci-fi feel to it now.

Re: General Discussion on the New Series (All Opinions Welcome)

I have to say, I'm loving the series, but there is one thing that's been nagging on me; I'm not loving the Red Room stuff this season. Something about it just lacks the otherworldly power it had in the original series and Fire Walk With Me. Not sure if it's due to how distant and wide it's shot, wh...

Still haven't rewatched. I'm not sure when I will - I might wait until the midway point or even after the series is over.

Re: what is canon to you and why?

I pretty much consider everything canon but I also think the canon for this show should be fluid. So it wouldn't bother me if Lynch or Frost retconned anything - except maybe major stuff, like Laura, Coop, etc. I think Season 1 and most of Season 2 should be established as strict canon. Other stuff ...

Re: General Discussion on the New Series (All Opinions Welcome)

As I said in another thread, this new show isn't Twin Peaks. It's way too divergent from the original television show and film. It's definitely a Lynch production and it is interesting and riveting on it's own, but this really hasn't been a return to Twin Peaks. Agreed - at least so far. As I've sa...

We didn't
Spoiler:
see that scene with Bad Coop and Jennifer Jason Leigh yet
did we? The one we saw so far was different right?

Re: General Discussion on the New Series (All Opinions Welcome)

Yeah, I think this thread can be about opinions and feelings on the overall series to date, individual episodes, theories, speculation - anything really. I just wanted this to be a thread where all opinions are welcome - the good, the bad, and the inbetween! What we like, what we don't is also a goo...

Given that
Spoiler:
her letter to Lynch in character recently surfaced
I wonder does this give any credence to that old rumour?

I remember they said they saw
Spoiler:
her

Spoiler:
a car driving towards a gated entry that led down to the filming location of the sheriff's station
Does anyone else remember this?
