Agreed... Best film I've seen in a few years.

I'd love to expound on how amazing it was, but I really don't want to spoil it :D :D :D

Re: Twin Peaks VR game

The disembodied hands give it a very Addams Family-crossover feel, ha. I guess this looks good? I don't have any VR/Oculus experience through which to compare this to. If they include the RR Diner, the Great Northern, The Palmer House, One Eyed Jack's, and I don't know, random stuff like Jacoby's of...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

Since we are speculating on things written for actors who didn't appear, I wonder if the "imposter Phillip Jeffries" bit came about organically in response to David Bowie's passing. It's just such a minor plot point cited off-hand once or twice -- perhaps Lynch/Frost didn't always have tha...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

That really is a head scratcher. And I don't buy that they just didn't have a place for her in the script. they shoehorned Gary Hershberger in for a cameo as well as Alicia Witt for two scenes with almost no dialogue. Agreed... But out of all the characters from the original series, Catherine Marte...

Re: Peaks Fans Top 10 TV shows

I'm actually generally okay with the Dick Tremayne stuff, at least pre-Little Nicky. Ian Buchanan just pulls it off, somehow. The Roadhouse courtroom bits just fall flat for me though. Back onto top 10 tv shows, my tastes don't include too much that hasn't already been praised in this thread. I like...

Re: Peaks Fans Top 10 TV shows

the Roadhouse trial scenes Yeah, people don't talk about the Roadhouse trial stuff, but it does kind of fall flat, for me anyway. I mean obviously it's Twin Peaks and I love it no matter what, but just contrast the Roadhouse trial to, I don't know, Leland's jailhouse confession an episode or two pr...

Re: Twin Peaks Actually Explained (Youtube)

Those are all good points about the Gordon Cole character. I guess I just don't think much of an artist's intent when engaging with a work, so for me Gordon Cole is just another character, albeit one with supernatural and otherwordly intuition, but not one with any sort of meta-textual or extra-text...

Re: Twin Peaks Actually Explained (Youtube)

I do feel like there are moments of Peaks that cry out as being explicitly meta. "Invitation to Love" from S1, the TV being smashed at the beginning of FWWM, and possibly the large glass box from S3 as a metaphor for the experience of watching S3. But beyond that it's just not something I ...

Re: Twin Peaks Actually Explained (Youtube)

It's a didactic and silly theory. Yes, there is a strain of meta-commentary throughout Twin Peaks, but to view it entirely as a piece of media criticism is such a banal take. Ditto... I'm fine with people watching Twin Peaks and getting these sort of impressions from it -- I think that's part of wh...

Re: Numerology in TP:TR (spoilers)

I don't really know enough about numerolgy to begin reading into allusions to it in Twin Peaks, but I do think Leland Palmer's license plate ("710-YEP") might be some sort of weird callback to Dorothy Vallens apartment number (710) in Blue Velvet.

But maybe it's just a coincidence.

Re: What Might Have Been Had The Show Either Not Been Cancelled or Had Come Back Sooner: Seasons 3, 4-7, maybe even 10!

Yeah, it's fun as a thought experiment to try to imagine what these hypothetical seasons would look like. I remember a long time ago having an idea of what a 1992 Season 3 might be like... I think evil Cooper would have spent the whole season doing nasty things, but just under the radar enough to av...

Re: What Might Have Been Had The Show Either Not Been Cancelled or Had Come Back Sooner: Seasons 3, 4-7, maybe even 10!

This is something I used to have a lot of thoughts about, but having seen the real Season 3 it's hard for me to picture what the 1992 Season 3 would've looked like, let alone any sort of continuation of the series last through the 90's. Assuming we would've gotten 7 or so seasons of the original ser...

Re: Best Season Finale Cliffhanger?

Cooper is also making a bit of a hand gesture similar to the way he opens the red curtains in episode 2. Not really sure what to make of that either, but maybe Cooper thinks that bringing Laura home somehow frees him finally from all this Red Room stuff. (EDIT: Maybe Cooper thinks this is where to s...

Re: Best Season Finale Cliffhanger?

I'm inclined not to think of the S3 ending as a cliffhanger, even though that was my initial first impression. I will say though, I have no clue why Cooper utters "what year is this?". That's the thing that makes me keep thinking it might be a cliffhanger, but at the same time, it might wr...

Re: What would a Season 4 be about?

I feel like maybe Laura Palmer's story arc is finished, and Cooper's is too for the most part. I don't want to create another rambling post musing on the meaning of the ending of Season 3, but in the event that there is no story left for Laura and Agent Cooper, then perhaps Lynch/Frost could go the ...
