Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
One question and maybe it's been discussed- are we now assuming James Morrison is a recast Major Briggs? I'd be sorta shocked if they recast Briggs. The only cast member i've even pondered being recast is Phillip Jeffries since I believe Arbogast had mentioned he supposedly had an important role in...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
the alien scene with Milford, Nixon, and Jackie Gleeson didn't quite work for me. Not a phrase easily uttered in any other fandom. I am reminded of a classic alt.tv.twin-peaks thread from '90-'91 where USENET posters began to make up wild tales of an episode some believed had been preempted - maybe...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
This is why the alien scene with Milford, Nixon, and Jackie Gleeson didn't quite work for me. Sorta wish it was left a little more ambiguous as to what happened. It's kind of impossible for me to take any little grey alien stuff seriously at this point, culturally speaking.

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
Well, maybe we don't. But he said as much while he was in the process of making a science fiction film: "Well, I – here we’re making DUNE, but I don’t really like science fiction. I don’t like going to another planet so much as I like being right here..." huh, interesting, especially sinc...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
What if Frost just comes out and says that after 25 years he just didn't want to be a slave to continuity? That it just wasn't a priority? That wouldn't bother me, at least in the cases that have been presented in the book, which I personally think are fairly trivial. The only slightly eyebrow-rais...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
So disappointed in what I'm hearing. Not regretting cancelling my preorder since it seems on par with fan fiction. Still looking forward to S3. It doesn't sound like the book wrapped up or set up much as far as storylines go so what is the point anyway. Cash grab? It sounds easily ignorable. I doub...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
After reading, I personally didn't get the idea that Frost's intent with this book was to wrap up loose ends, so it wasn't shocking to see a lot of stuff like this left out.Panapaok wrote:No Leo as well? I'd expect Frost to wrap his storyline up (just like Hank), since Eric DaRe is not in S3.

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
It's still imperfect. I wish it wasn't quite so imperfect but I also take it as somewhat a matter of course, especially after 25 years. I usually have much more exacting standards on these kind of flaws, but Peaks has continually defied those since when it comes to some of this it kind of built the...

I could be wrong, I didn't see any mention of her though. There's plenty of other characters that don't pop up, so it didn't strike me as that strange.Panapaok wrote:At all? Damn, that's weird.BEARisonFord wrote:I didn't notice any mention of Donna at all.Aqua wrote:Donna?

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
I'm not trying to be argumentative, but is continuity really a big thing to want or expect in a TV show or sequel? Nah, that's not argumentative at all, and in 9 out of 10 cases i'd agree with you. I personally just think Twin Peaks sits outside of the norm. Nothing about David Lynch's work has pro...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
I'm not even saying the specific things in the book will come up in S3. It just makes me nervous about continuity in general for S3 since Frost wrote both. And if the continuity in the book is that loose, that might be the same for S3's continuity. I think it's a legitimate concern. I would say if ...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
Yes. I didn't swear at him, I didn't call him an idiot or anything else like that. I simply expressed I was annoyed and disappointed, that I hoped the discrepancies were intentional, I cited specific characters that had continuity issues, asked if we should count it canon and called the issues glar...
