Well each to his own, but huge amounts of season 3 felt intensely, thrillingly creepy to me - much more so than seasons 1 and 2.IcedOver wrote:I agree that it's a problem that S3 has almost no scenes that would be considered creepy.

Eh? If they're diehard Lynch and Peaks fanatics why have they waited so long to see the series?Mr. Strawberry wrote:I'll be watching with some new friends that happen to be diehard Lynch and Peaks fanatics, and it will be their first viewing, so I anticipate much shared confusion.

She also oddly says the “European version” of the Pilot was released direct to video in the UK five months before the Pilot aired on ABC. Can anyone definitively confirm or refute this? I’ve never heard this before, and I’m fairly certain the “direct to video movie” market barely existed in 1989. I...

Re: General Discussion on the New Series (All Opinions Welcome)
Just heard a short interview on NPR with David Lynch. After talking a bit about the new book Room To Dream , the interviewer asked him about his meditation practice. Lynch spoke about how with the meditation technique stress, anxieties, tensions, sadness, depression, hate, rage, need for revenge, a...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
You don't think Cooper ever said 'damn fine coffee'? He said it more than he said 'damn good'. Plus it was always 'damn fine' in any publicity back in 1990-2. How is the publicity more relevant than the content of the actual series? In which episode did he say the exact phrase "damn fine coffe...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
I really think that Frost and Lynch saw s3 as the 'doppleganger' season and that's why we have unsatisfying stories, character situations and a lack of mood. No shot of trees blowing in the wind seductively as such (instead we get speeded-up footage of trees trembling), only mention of damn GOOD co...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
Dougie is just surprised at the door of the car being opened, that's all. It takes him by surprise - as if he's lost in a daydream. Which he is right? :) He gasps before the car door is opened. So he's either reacting to the sight of the red door or to the appearance of the driver who is about to o...

Regarding the red door - it's odd that one of the few sudden, non-vegetative things that Dougie does is gasp with surprise when he first sees the red door.
I always wondered why.

Re: What's your favourite scene from The Return?
The closing scene of the opening two-parter was the most heartwarming for me.
The sight of the familiar characters of Shelly, James and Jacques, sorry Jean-Michel Renault wrapped in the glorious sound of the Chromatics' Shadow confirmed that the spirit of Twin Peaks was still alive.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
Where are these "cast and crew trailers"? In the shot from the front of the car as Cooper drives Janey-E to the casino, before the cut to Dern at the bar, they pass what are clearly three cast trailers on the left of the screen. That's the way trailers are lined up on film sets. Thanks. I...

27 years later, I still can't figure out if the MFAP is in league with BOB, opposed to him, or just neutral. Well, that shadow version of the tree seemed fairly evil. It is only at the very end, when TEOTA starts talking about the story of the little girl who lived down the lane that things get mur...
