Dino De Laurentiis, prolific producer of such films as Blue Velvet, Dune (1984), Barbarella and Serpico has passed away at the age of 91 yesterday. From the age of 17, Dino supported himself in the film industry taking any job he could get. He produced his first film by the age of 20.
Without his efforts, David Lynch’s hallmark film, Blue Velvet may never had been made.
