Nah. The “2001” the prior day may have been a mistake, or may not have been. But by the second day, he was definitely just having fun.

would be interesting to know if it had been mooted but been sunk by something or if a fourth had never even been considered?

Where have you heard these comments please, though? I haven't heard anything that definite from Lynch himself.

I am very much confused by this What does it mean???

I was just about to express my worries that the middle of March is nearing, and May is very close, but we still have not heard anything official yet. I definitely tend to be an optimist, but even I am getting worrisome.

Let's face it guys, Lynch - as far as big-scale movie and TV show projects are concerned - is over and out. The most we can expect from him in the time he has left on this planet is this or that hand-made/chiseled/painted/whatnot artefact out of his workshop and some future weather reports and numbers-related gibberish. The sooner we accept that, the less disappointed we'll end up being when it turns out to be the case. Maybe TP has a future, but it's to be of entirely new creative minds and hands.

No clue. Jerry doesn’t reveal his sources usually, presumably to protect them. But experience has taught me that his info tends to be reliable.
