Nah that's not a causal link. We may have a Lynch-centric worldview but that doesn't mean everyone else does.

Lots of other directors who debuted TV shows were also mentioned.

They are doing Un Certain Regard now, then Official Competition comes next and last.

Yeah. I won't be holding my breath for next week. Lynch has said he doesn't have anything for Cannes. At some point we need to just accept that. We're only torturing ourselves.
