I'm heartbroken. She was one person I was looking forward to seeing, even if in just a cameo. Rest in Peace.

Farewell, Catherine Coulson

How terribly sad. I had the privilege of meeting Ms. Coulson last year. She was so warm and generous with her time, not to mention incredibly excited to be working with her friend David again.

This is devastating news.

When the first episode of Season 3 ends, the credits will roll, it will say "For Catherine" and I will cry like a damned baby. It's really sinking in, and I'm sick over it.

I'm sure they will find a way to handle it in the story as classily as possible.

I said this differently in another thread, but my heart goes out to the long, longtime members of the fandom who did know and befriend Ms. Coulson and watched her carry the flame (and keep the log) for so many years. The production's struggle is one thing, but yours is equally significant.

I'm hoping they shot something purely for her and Lynch's sake. What a poignant send-off that would be. If it is cancer, as someone in another thread hinted then maybe they even knew this was coming and the scene was shot with that knowledge in the wings. Although, speaking as someone who has watched no less than 3 people face and/or struggle with cancer diagnoses in the past month (seriously, fuck that disease) it's hard for me to imagine how she could have done that this close to passing away.

If we see her in 2017, good God I'm going to get choked up.

RIP. :(

My uncle was a drifter who had been mostly off the grid for years; he died of brain cancer last Friday. I wept for my mother, because she knew him, I barely did. Today, though, strange and perhaps sick as it is, I feel like I know the Log Lady better than I knew my uncle.

Yeah, if she died of cancer this probably wasn't shocking or unexpected to those who knew her. It's always hard but she leaves behind many wonderful memories, through her work and I'm sure many, many more through the personal relationships with loved ones.

This news sucks, I always liked her not just the character she portrayed in the show(she was one of my favorite characters even though she didn't have that much screen time) but also in all of the interviews I saw of her. It's very sad.
