I'm guessing that
a) Lynch doesn't want this info out, and
b) even at this very late date, things may not be worked out with some of the returning actors.

I feel like we could add a category for "informally confirmed" and include, for example, Sheryl Lee, Dana Ashbrook, and Catherine Coulson since Lynch personally told them they would be in but nothing has been officially signed/announced through Showtime. There's always the possibility things could change but they seem a safer bet than, say, Kiefer Sutherland, even if not quite as safe a bet as Madchen Amick or Wendy Robie, given recent activity. (On the other hand, to play devil's advocate, what if the storefront is just a jokey background detail and we never actually see Nadine? I doubt it but in a way even this is an assumption on our parts.)

Oh, and we should probably spoiler/tag this thread title!

I was just thinking how I'd love to see Carl Rodd in there. Harry Dean Stanton is one of the most prestigious & beloved actors to appear in the saga, yet it seems people often forget to associate him with Twin Peaks maybe because he's only in the film (then again, that didn't seem to be a problem for Isaak, Sutherland, and Bowie, who often get brought up). In fact the idea of him reappearing didn't even occur to me until just now.

I know Stanton is very old now, nearly 90, and I'm not sure how his health is though I know he actively celebrated a birthday recently. It would be beautiful to see him continue his long collaboration with Lynch by make a brief appearance here. Then again I have a feeling we won't be seeing Deer Meadow at all in 2016/17. It may have served its purpose.

I'd say that maybe Carl moved to a new town, but we all know he just wanted to stay where he was.

I think by now we can say Everett McGuill is a safe bet as well. I know there's a lot of conjecture that James could be running the gas station now, but the fact that Lynch was looking for Everett before production started says otherwise to me

You of all people know who my favorite returning character would be Ross. Seems not likely, but we'll see

And let's hope they won't forget FWWM characters (Isaak, Sutherland and Bowie)

I'm hesitant to say anyone is a safe bet at this point, because we really don't know what real life circumstances are happening behind the scenes. Lynch may have told people they were going to be in the scripts way back when, and things still could have fallen through later on (Sherilyn??).

But hopefully we'll know a few more soon with filming starting.

Thus far today, per his Twitter account, our intrepid Jerry Horne has reported having sighted Dana Ashbrook on set this afternoon.

So far, Kyle, Everett, Wendy and Dana confirmed.
Madchen and Peggy are safe bets, since both gave hints online.
And Riley might be playing a new character or assuming Pierre's role.
