I don't agree with all of this Matt Zoller Seitz piece (for example, I loved the room service scene both then and now), but I think it's mostly right on, and right on about Lynch: He does not give a fuck about audience/critical expectation, and this will be wild.

I love that piece. Also, Seitz clarified on Twitter that he loved the scene too. He was just using it as an example of how Lynch can be alienating.

Speaking of, I was just listening to a review of Alien Covenant today by Michael Medved. He practically gave away what I assume was a key scene.

It reminded me what a gift Lynch and Frost are giving us by keeping us completely in the dark.

The interviewer is Darren Franich. He is one of the hosts of EW's TP podcast. He also does a show, "Entertainment Weirdly", once a week on SiriusXM's EW Radio channel.
