Blu Ray Deal

Post by DeerMeadowRadio »

I am currently seeing the blu ray set at amazon for about $85. Does anyone have any success stories/tips regarding getting it for cheaper? I am ready to pull the trigger but still need to watch the $$.

Thanks!

I bought it at Best Buy for $80. Saw it, and told my wife to not buy anything for my birthday because I meeded it at that moment.

That seems to be around the benchmark... usually these things keep dropping in price but I am getting that 2nd season handshake feeling , so may have to just grab it.

My recommendation would be to check Amazon UK. They are selling the set (region-free) at 39 pounds, which includes British tax that you don't have to pay outside of UK, so it's even a couple of pounds cheaper than that (you will see that in your cart). I think that's the cheapest option around. Enjoy!

Bought a copy from Zavvi this week for £27. Not sure if the deal's still running.

Thanks... I have also seen some good deals on ebay for region free sets. Is there any difference between these region free sets and what you would get from amazon?

Nope, they're all the same thing.

I think Zavvi do global shipping, probably your best bet.

$42 including shipping to the US is my understanding... a MIND-BLOWING deal for anyone who doesn't already have it!

I'm pretty sure all the sets are the same but have their own regions ratings on a plastic sleeve. My UK set came with a BBFC rating slipped on it. I presume the US one would have an MPAA sleeve on it? When you take that off the box-set could belong to anywhere. Does that sound right?

My wife bought me the set from zavvi for Christmas. With some promo or another it came out to be $40 (shipping included) to the US. It is a great buy. No problems with it whatsoever.

For anyone in the UK, this magnificent box set is now going for the obscenely low price of £17.99 (!!!) on HMV. They don't ship worldwide unlike Zavvi however.

So about 36 days after ordering the zavi deal my blu ray set has arrived. What an amazing day! Thanks to all who pointed out that great deal...definitely worth the way. I am off now to basically watch a new TP movie (MPs) which should temporarily help to satiate the eternal wait for Apr (sic?) 2017. Should be good, deep dreams tonight...
