I don't know why anyone wouldn't hope for a Super Bowl teaser. Most major shows and films for the upcoming year want very much to book time today.

Knowing Lynch he could buck it, of course, and not air anything. But if this was anyone other than him and his obsession with secrecy, yes, there absolutely would be a spot today. I'm calling it 50/50.

I'm fully ready to eat crow if they release a Super Bowl spot. It'd be amazing. I just doubt they'd spent 5 million dollars for a spot. It's mostly big studios that buy them for their big blockbuster movies.
This is - excuse me - a damn fine cup of coffee.

Regarding actors pay checks, I have heard from a friend to a Showtime source, every actor involved were payed the same number, which was a minimum wage. This was one of the deals that made the 18 hours possible when Lynch and Showtime got into conflict over the extended production. I wouldn't be too sure this counts MacLachlan, but it's not impossible. This contract should include stars like Watts, Dern, Roth etc.

There is no Season 2 Marathon- at least it's no longer on the schedule.

Twin Peaks is a niche audience- Super Bowl ads are for general audiences.

Twin Peaks is one of the biggest shows of the year, and probably Showtime's biggest show of 2017. There's a ton of big shows and movies airing ads, and most of them are genre-oriented. (Stranger Things has a top slot tonight as well.) I'm not saying it'll happen, but between the day and the marathon and the show's fame it's not as niche or as unlikely as one would think.

It would not surprise me if they aired this most recent vignette of coffee in the original series during the Super Bowl if they did release anything for it. It would make sense to do something that would appeal to the interest of the mainstream in a popular element of the original series.

I thought there was a slight chance because I assumed the Super Bowl was on CBS, but it's not this year. So, not gonna happen. Wouldn't even really make sense to do it.
