I read a couple of days ago about a film (the new Star Wars maybe?) that used a CGI-version of an already deceased actor.

Sorry if this was already discussed elsewhere (I did not catch up on this entire forum). But could it be (financially) feasible to do a couple of CGI-scenes with Jeffries, MFAP and/or BOB? That would be absolutely awesome.
Yes, Rogue One has Grand Moff Tarkin in it, facially recreated using CG. I loved it. Most didn't.

Same debate goes on here. I'd love to see them do that in a non-gratuitous way for S3. Most wouldn't, based upon conversations that took place on here somewhat recently.

Ah, thanks!

And are there any rumours about whether or not this technology will be used in TP as well? (Or is that question off limits in a non-spoiler topic?)

No rumours that hold any merit, although it's been alluded to that some of those characters will be back in some shape or form.

Ahh, I think I missed that earlier. That is very telling, and it makes sense. I admit it - advance critics' screenings seem less likely in the light of that.

This really is a new era.

But I'm still willing to bet that we'll see some official reviews before the premiere, even if they're ruthlessly information-free ones that only come out the day of. Anyone want to take me up on it? Losers have to change their avatars to Ed from Northern Exposure for a month.

Thing is, I don't think Showtime has ever had a show with this kind of buzz, so I think there is something "magical" about people watching the TP premiere. It's a unique case, IMO, and I think they'll treat it that way. For one thing, they clearly aren't going to release it online weeks early. But, and we don't need to beat a dead horse, but I still don't think advanced reviews are necessary or helpful in this situation.
So does that mean you aren't taking the bet?

I don't really care about my avatar here. A good old "I told ya so" will be good enough for me.

Yeah, it died a quiet death. If there had been a funeral, Shelley would have made fun of it, so it is what it is.

Speaking of which, I didn't get to read nearly enough of the spoiler thread, could anyone possibly PM me a link to some site, somewhere, with a summary of the cool details that were revealed in there? If such a link exists? For all I know, the sweet sweet information lies nowhere else on the web besides that RIP'd thread. Getting a glimpse of that thread a few weeks ago is what prompted me to make an account for this site in the first place  Elated to be here now, either way!

i just have to say, the most exciting change to the forum to me is the addition of the episode 30 thread that will unlock 5 minutes before it airs.. even though its just sitting there doing nothing, its mere existence excites me to no end.. thank you. i just had to say that.
