So I've been pretty much obsessed with this gorgeous song since it's appearence in episode 2 and have felt like it had a lot in common thematically with season three as a whole. Anyway I just found this quote about the song from the Chomatics' Johnny Jewel which seemed fitting: ... adow/mp3s/

"Everyone has a shadow. There is no real difference between ten years ago and ten seconds ago. Your future determines your past. The flame of nostalgia is a tempting black hole to jump into, but I recognize it as a fantasy."

Sounds pretty in keeping with the Twin Peaks and Dale Cooper many of us have have longed to return to for so many years. You can never go home...

Also interesting that he refers to nostalgia as a flame, since 'The Flame' is the title of his song that plays over the scene of DougieCoop looking at the lawman statue.

Return to “Season 3 (2017) The Return”
