I posted this in the random thread too, but thought it also fits here pretty well:

I tried getting outside once. The special effects and picture were great but the storyline was shitty. Basically no plot.

You're supposed to create your own. Choose your own adventure. Climb a tree naked, paint your face purple, listen to Spandau Ballet while swinging blindfolded on a rope swing. It's entirely up to you.

Well, during those 2 weeks like many other fans I was so much into Twin Peaks, doing fan edits, writing a blog about theories, and investigating on the chronology... that now I see Twin Peaks everywhere!

I didn't think the wait would get to me, but episode 8 was so strong that since it aired, I've watched Inland Empire for the first time (which I looooved), rewatched Mulholland Drive and Fire Walk With Me (which finally clicked with me as brilliant stand-alone movie), and begun a rewatch of season one.

So I guess I have gone on a mini-Lynch marathon, but that's less because the wait is intolerable and more because episode 8 reminded me of everything I like about his work.

In the end I'm not actually desperate to see more Twin Peaks tomorrow. I have the feeling that whatever follows Part 8 will be underwhelming compared to that (even if its great in its own right as part of the story). I can comfortably wait until tomorrow night to find out.

i finally got around to watching "The Art Life" documentary, it was an yrev very good documentary that provided a lot of insight into Lynch's mind. i never knew he suffered from true life anxiety and depression when he was younger. very insightful!

i recently bought a Blu Ray player (main reason - "The Entire Mystery") and it's such a different experience from DVD that i have ended up buying most of the David Lynch films, the Terrence Malick films, the '70s Coppolas, and many others so i've been watching a lot of movies.
