I made a quick top ten. My first two picks have already been chosen by others as the single best moments... no wonder. Oh wait, it's kind of longer than top ten ;-)

1. The purple room (mauve? what the hell is mauve??!)

2. The blue Albert/Gordon scene

3. The Richard Horne no smoking scene + Trouble performance

4. The Hawk/ Log Lady phone conversation and Dark Mood Woods

5. The first Frank Truman/Doris scene

6. Jacoby's performance and all the people watching him!

7. Dougie craving for coffee in the elevator

8. The Shelly/James Roadhouse scene

9. The garmonbozia vomiting scene(s)

10. Diane

11. Heellllooooooo!

12. The cow jumped over the moon

13. The Take Five/ tie on his head breakfast scene

14. Wally

15. The Amanda Seyfried getting high scene

I'd go with "bottom 10", too, but I don't think about these so much so I forgot ;-)
Very obviously at the very bottom is the potato-head tree called evolution of the arm, which I find to be the worst Lynch-directed scene ever.

But you might have noticed that in my overgrown top ten there are no scenes in the Red Room/ Lodge... unfortunately so far they would probably fill most of my "bottom 10" and that makes me rather sad :-(

Search the forum, people are calling it that! No idea why, apparenty it started on Reddit and caught on. Reminds me of the Pixar movie Monsters Inc. when a character is told to find a puce file and has no idea what color puce is.

I know, I've seen it. I'm not familiar with the name of the colour, though, and truly speaking I very much doubt that I'd see a difference between purple and mauve. I rarely do ;-)

Hmm interesting. We say mauve a lot here in UK. It's in the same ballpark as violet and the lesser mentioned heliotrope. Not as thick and rich as purple.

there were two scenes that stirred up the most emotions in me:

1. the first roadhouse scene. seeing james and shelly with the perfect music playing in the backgroud was great.

2. the richard horne roadhouse scene. again, fantastic music but a chilling scene.

honorable mention is seeing bob's face morph in the mirror.

Albert: "Say 'please'."
Gordon: "WHAT DID YOU SAY?"
Albert: "You heard me."
Gordon: "... please."

My favorite bit of dialogue so far.

My favorite piece of DIALOGUE was Gordon's exchange with Bill Kennedy about the guy who got sent to the North Pole. A quintessential piece of Lynchian nonsequitir dialogue.

I think that little exchange between Albert and Gordon was a good metaphor for Lynch messing with us. He heard us all along, you know? And was manipulating a little bit for sport and just because he could

I loved being back in the great northern tonight, so much I could suspend Ashley Judd disbelief. Every scene was so dense with mystery and meaning tonight, like a song building up to its chorus.

<3 Will Hayward and Garland Briggs both included in the action, i'll be damned.

Unquestionably the prison scene when Gordon, Albert and Tammy meet evil coop. I keep rewatching it.

We do? I don't think I've ever heard 'mauve' used in conversation. I'm going to try and fit in somewhere tomorrow.

A particular low-saturation, dusty pinkish mauve became very popular in interior design in the 80s, at least in the US. There was mauve everywhere. Mauve lamps, mauve couches, mauve wallpaper, etc. Lots of mauve in hotels. Even the local McDonald's had metal furniture for a while that had been painted mauve. I came to associate it with very tacky things, and indeed, in time it became sort of a punchline to some people. Eventually anything mauve was either very rundown, or just sort of out-of-date, like furniture one would see in an old woman's home.

To this day I can't stand that type of mauve, but the more purple high-saturation type isn't bad.

In any case, the "mauve room" scene is a spectacular piece of cinema.

I dare you to drop 'heliotrope' into a conversation!

I've seen every episode a couple of times, but I cannot remember either who Bill Kennedy is or this particular piece of dialogue. :D

Favourite bits so far:

The Giant opening scene
The first appearance of evil Coop
Jade – she's very funny and seems quite fond of Dougie, although he's just a client
The Log Lady
Cossacks/carsick
'It is yrev very good to see you...' scene
The discovery of the diary pages
The purple/mauve room sequence (I, thus far, have said 'purple,' but I'll go with the consensus!)
Doc Hayward
Coop's single tear as he looks at Sonny Jim
The casino manager getting beaten up in front of the showgirls
'He's lying!'
Red's magic coin
Coop standing under the James Stewart statue as Windswept plays
Chromatics

I'll probably update as I think of others.
