Seems like always when you have an idea, someone else online already executed it. Here's two clips from season 3 with old music under them.

I have to say: I really like it. Would sure like to do a re-watch with all old music one day. Maybe it could be a collaborative effort. Not that I think the new Peaks are inherently flawed.

Fantastic! Love it with the music (will have to rewatch the original scenes to compare, but l don't recall it being as engrossing as this).

I think COOP is fantastic, l'd buy his character a drink irl before letting him be on his way.

Fantastic stuff!

Bad Coop without that music goes a bit to a comical direction, although sure his first scene where he blocked the guy trying to hit him with his gun was supposed to be funny (and it was).
But with this music he actually feels more menacing.

It makes it feel very comfortingly conventional, and one of the most interesting things about these episodes was how airy and cold they were.

I thought he was incredibly menacing already in the Daria scene, but this new version reminds me that I'm watching a TV villain.

Yes it is a big improvement. Well done to whoever put these together.

I'm fine with the show as is, but these are impressive. I do hope Badalamenti's music is slowly layered back in, but I don't expect many of the old tracks to recur even if his new work becomes prominent.

Sorry, but it's terrible. No, no, no... no!

Yup. Really doesn't work.

The first wasn't bad. But the second clip wasn't great.

I think of the first two episodes, the scene with DoppleCoop and Darya in bed was one of the more perfect scenes that really didn't need anything extra. I think the music here took away from the suspense (of the inevitable).

Yeah, hate both of those. Removes the atmosphere from the scenes somehow.

Ok so I did one myself. Just for fun, an experiment I thought I'd share. I am not adept at editing so don't bash me too hard.

Issues:
- Music too loud
- Music tempo too slow. In fact, you need a piece with a more frisky time signature, but l don't know enough about written music to elaborate. I say this because the timing has to reflect the frantic phone conversation.

Maybe use the brush drums, ramp up tempo, and overlay some pre-spliced vibraphone parts at choice moments in the phone conversation.

Yeah yeah. Agreed on your points. Thing is I don't even properly know how the video editor I'm using works. (or how to adjust volume for the music)

I wasn't going to put a lot of effort in to this..... yet!

As I said: just an experiment, consider it a sketch
