American Horror Story

It's about a dad, mom, and teenage daughter who move from Boston to LA after the mom has a miscarriage and the dad has an affair. They move into a giant old house that is very, very, very cheap.
It's a whole story told in one season/12 episodes. There are some tiny loose ends, but nothing major. It's on Hulu, FX, and Amazon. It's definitely R-rated, and parts of it are pretty darn sexy. Parts of it are also scary as hell, and I thought it struck the right balance between leaving things to the imagination and going for the full gross-out. It's been described as "American Beauty" meets "The Shining," and I think that's apt.
I think people who enjoy the very fine works of David Lynch might also enjoy this.
