I find it kind of ironic that this should be on a promotional DVD for Avid, when it turns out that David Lynch actually edited Inland Empire using Final Cut Pro.

Well a new Avid system was part of the deal, and Mary was going to be editing the film and the DVD on the Avid. But Dave got going on FCP as we were shooting scenes, and he decided to edit the film himself.

I use FCP myself every day and it's a joy to use.
I hope Dave got a good price for his Avid on eBay...

Just thaught I'd post some pictures of the Room To Dream dvd, in case anyone's curious about what it looked like...

Pretty simple cardboard sleeve and all, but still quite a find as it was totally free and quite informative as well :D

You wouldn't know were I could still get this do you. Avid asia is the only place I have tried and no luck yet.

Hmm, I have seen it on ebay every now and then. But another guess is that you try to contact Digidesign. That's the site where I ordered my freebie-copy in the first place. Seems like a friendly place (for all I know).

you can contact them here:

Wouldn't be too surprised if these things are still stacked away in a box somewhere... (worth a shot anyway)...

PS. I also tried to go for the original ordering page but this appears to be deleted by now. DS

Nice one, I am now watching this on my e-bay, fingers crossed.

I also dropped into youtube and see someone has put it up last month in four parts, if anyone wants to have a look:
