The DUNE Collector's Corner

Post by Annie »

We've had requests for a special collector's corner just for DUNE items; I know some of us fanatics have more toys, etc. from DUNE than anything else Lynchian. I have a fantastic set of dolls or action figures, a little smaller than a Barbie doll. They include the Baron, Piter, Gurney, Duke Leto and Jessica. When I got them a loooooong time ago, Paul was all sold out. I should have bought a spice harvester and some other vehicles, but I wasn't thinking ahead at the time. I also passed on the autographed Frank Herbert DUNE book--stupid!

So DUNE collectors, here's your chance to show off!

Well, this is the stuff I can remember from the top of my head, I'll add pictures and anything I missed later.

I have seven different DVD releases of Dune; four Region Four releases, two Region One releases and one Region Two release.

Dune on VHS - Original Australian Release.
"The Making of Dune" - this is recorded off TV, the same documentary is on at least one of the DVD releases.

Dune Soundtrack - Original Cassette
Dune Soundtrack - Reissued CD

Dune Books: (books related to the film, not the sereis)
Original movie tie-in novel (two different editions)
The Making Of Dune book
Dune Storybook
Dune Pop-up Book
Dune comic book (I think this too is a reissue)

Dune production cards (set of eight)

Dune original Australian Poster

Dune American poster (small)

That's all I can remember that I have........alas I have no dolls or action figures!

Hey guys! Look what I did--I figured out how to post pictures!
Here's David with Frank Herbert, posing on the set of DUNE.

Anyone have the Waldenbooks exclusive cassette tape of Lynch and Herbert discussing Dune?

I have 3 of them.

Hey Daniel--that's really cool! I tried looking on eBay and it looks like they are all gone. I have a cassette set of Frank Herbert reading his favorite parts of the three first Dune books, but I'd love this one!

(Under site updates, there's instructions on posting pictures from imageshack) Here's your picture:

Great pic.

Always seemed to me Sean Young's part was much bigger and that there is more footage locked away somewhere. In the final version you start to get a sense of their relationship and then she basically disappears and then shows up near the end.

I'll think about it.

:D

It could be a good investment for resale. When/if the economy gets better.
