Nice; thank you! It strikes me as funny that James Hurley is arguably a James Dean riff & Lynch ends up pairing up with a Dean Hurley.

that's a pretty damn cool release.. some of the titles are intriguing for sure too.. this is a great listen while reading imo. i'm currently reading "1Q84" by Murakami after a recommendation by a fellow Dugpa poster and this makes for a cool soundtrack along with the excellent Johnny Jewel album (my mind never strays too far away from Twin Peaks these days).

btw did Lynch have a falling out of some kind with John Neff? they were certainly very close collaborators for several years but as soon as Dean Hurley popped into the picture he was quickly delegated to the sidelines.. just a bit curious? maybe it's as simple as Lynch liking Hurley's work better.

The last thing I think he worked on with David was Chrysta Bell's album This Train, which was in 2011. Perhaps they just faded from one another.

iTunes have updated the tracklist for the instrumental Twin Peaks soundtrack/score. only two more tracks left to fill out which makes me think there might not be that much substantial new Badalamenti music left in the upcoming parts. either way, this album looks like it will be a fantastic front-to-back play. I've been having "The Chair" and "Heartbreaking" on constant release since they were released as singles to streaming service.

glad to see we're going to get that ill Thought Gang record we heard over the Mitchum Brothers in episode 10... anyone know what composition "Night" is or when it was heard?

I'm thinking Night hasnt been heard yet?

And of course some tracks have been released previously.

I'm shocked how little new Badalamenti there is! And no jazz.

i agree, we have only heard four or five substantial new Badalamenti compositions, and all of them has that etheral, epic yet heartbreaking vibe that really pulls on your heartstrings. i absolutely love all of his contributions so far and really hope there will at least be two or three more before it's all said and done. overall i must say that i am happy with the music in the Return.. there's a good mix of some classics from the original without oversaturating it, the brilliant new compositions i mentioned above, some strong Roadhouse performances (NIN, Chromatics, Rebekah Del Rio, Trouble) and the Johnny Jewel album is a very good disc that i've listened to quite a lot.

i'd say that the Thought Gang record has the jazz element intact - sounds like it could be Buster Williams on the bass. of course, that was recorded years ago.. i also wonder what song "Frank 2000" is? it's been credited in three episodes and i still don't have a clue which cue it is?

just noticed that the B-side to the Trouble "Snake Eyes" 7'' single contains a track called "Mother's Gone".. could be Twin Peaks Return related. perhaps we'll see them on that Roadhouse stage again, their performance is one of the strongest yet imo.

i find it interesting that Amazon still lists the instrumental soundtrack as a 2 CD release, yet the 18 tracks that make up the tracklist should be able to fit on one CD.. i wonder what CD2 will contain unless it's a misinterpretation of the information they originally received (perhaps the fact that it's two soundtracks). this happens from time to time.

I think it's a mistake- likely stemming from the vinyl version being 2 albums.
