The most promising thing about this is that there must be a bigger Lynch deal at Netflix for something unannounced. There's no way the reported meetings were all for distributing an old short.

It could be that he has other shorts he wants to add. There's only one other one I know about that hasn't been released, "Pozar," an animation he did to music from the co-author of Polish Night Music.

I showed this to some work colleagues recently over lunch. They sat in an awkward silence for 17 minutes, then left without comment. Superb!
I showed a few seconds of it to my parents a week later (just as we were queuing something up on Netflix), and they collapsed into laughter immediately.
I guess you either get it or you don't!
