Actually, I think it best to let artists go their own way, as anything else, such as advice however well meant, tends to blur their vision.
But, just-for-funnsies: DL might do an epic treatment of V. by Thomas Pynchon or perhaps the oft-delayed William Gibson Neuromancer.
Of course, if he wanted to make some money and win an oscar or like that: a remake of King's Row is long overdue.

A western, maybe with Dafoe's Wild At Heart character, would be pretty awesome. Not many westerns come out these days.

Oh my god, can you imagine Lynch's take on the Ewoks!??!!

I can imagine Lynch working on some of Cronenberg's later films, 'A History Of Violence' for one. Also interesting to note that Cronenberg did 'Naked Lunch' a story of a writer around the time the Coen's did 'Barton Fink' (another story of a writer) during a time when Lynch was rumored to be working on Kafka's (a writer that inspired Lynch and Cronenberg, he's referenced in 'Naked Lunch') epic 'Metamorphosis'. Would love to see his take on that.

Perhaps the lame adaptation of Naked Lunch deterred the Kafka thing, if it was actually considered.
Come to think, an INLAND EMPIRE-style Popol Vuh might... nah, best let him pick his own projects.

I was thinking about Tim Burton, who I greatly despise, and how his better work would have been ten times more twisted if it was directed by David Lynch. A Nightmare Before Christmas would scare emos, Edward Scissorhands would have had more innuendo, and Ed Wood wouldn't have been so cheesy.

I was on IMDB, and browsing the board of "Freaks", when someone suggested if it were remade, David Lynch would be the director.

I still say David should have directed 'DUNE' and not that Alan Smithee guy.
Maybe he can do a re-make since that is all the rage now.

I'll tell you what: Inception would have been an EPIC film with a script rewrite and DL at the helm.

(As it was, it sucked.)

I do not agree.

Lynch, if Fincher was not up for it, could direct either the Girl Who Played With Fire or Kicked The Hornets Nest.

You don't agree with it sucking, or you don't agree that DL would have done a better job? :P

Donnie Darko would be my pick.

I wish he'd made Metamorphosis and Ronnie Rocket.

Eyes Wide Shut (based on Traumnovelle/Dream Story) ...can't think of anything more suitable than that tbh.

The most obvious example is the Fargo side of the plot as if it would have been in the bimodal.
