I was amazed as well- they were good quality mp3's as well. They have updated the above page to now say they 'inadvertantly' put the album up and it 'wont happen again'
Guess they have realised it was pretty easy to copy the stream, and now the albums all over the usual file sharing sites. Bet someone at the record company is getting an earbashing!
well, it's gonna happen sooner or later. how many times have we heard that some killer band's new album got leaked online months before the release date? and i don't think it's always a harming thing, cause casual fans would always find a way to download it and die-hards would shell out their money anyways.

Now that I've listened to it I would definitely buy the record when it's out, cause it's really good.

Nice track by track break down here-
http://www.spin.com/articles/sneak-peek ... dark-night

David Lynch also sings on track 7- didn't realise it was him at first on this one as his vocals arn't as distorted as they usually are.
Also says about 100 page book to be released with Lynch's artwork- 50 of which will be featured in the exhibit.

ok, after a calm listening I like very much the central block:
little girl / angel eyes / pain.
first a nice track with good rythm, even fun,
then black francis, some heavy guitars and distortion
finally a fuc*ing boom by iggy pop.
I don't like so much the first track with david, "star eyes", but really like "dark night of the soul": great piano and back noises, I like the mood... takes you away...

Great article--thanks. I looked on Amazon.com and the album isn't listed as a future release. Do you know the exact title of the future album that should be released soon?

No worries, been a long time reader of the forums- thought it was about time i signed up and joined in :D
The album title is 'Dark Night Of The Soul'
Not sure wether the artist is going to be 'Dark Night Of The Soul' as well or maybe dangermouse etc.. present Dark Night...
Not seen an official release date anywhere for it yet- thats why i was so suprised they put the whole album up on the stream, most of the blogs that have re-posted the stream/MP3's have just got it listed as Dark Night Of The Soul as the artist and title.

Order Dark Night of the Soul - Lynch Photo Book - Update

Post by dugpa »

Support this site and order your copy from Amazon.com by clicking here

From http://www.dnots-store.com/dark-night-o ... oster.html

This limited edition art book contains 100+ pages of original photographs by celebrated film director David Lynch. Only 5000 copies have been printed and each one is hand numbered. The book will also come with a 24" X 36" poster as well as a custom designed CD-R (poster comes folded).
Please note: Due to an ongoing dispute with EMI, Danger Mouse is unable to include music on the CD without fear of legal entanglement. Therefore, he has included a blank CD-R as an artifact to use however you see fit.

Ordered. It's been awhile since I've purchased a Lynch book. Prefer his photos to his paintings.

The Amazon link on the main page doesn't seem to work. (The forum link seems good, though.)

EDIT: It's only the "HERE" link that doesn't work. Clicking on the image works just fine.

Damn that'll be a shame if the album really is only availible with the book :(
Id dearly love to get the book with the artwork, but just cannot afford that at the moment... would like to just be able to get the Cd on its own though, maybe after the book is out they will look at releasing just the CD? - I really hope so.
