Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

Am I the only one who thinks that any inconsistencies are just errors (or oversights/retcons?). It's a big ass book, from all accounts he wrote it fairly quickly (as he seemed to indicate that he did the bulk of it while on set), and just generally I've found these really intense fan theories for va...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

Just finished the novel. Have so many thoughts and feelings that I want to express, though it's difficult and will probably need to sit with me a lot more. For the most part, I like how the novel fleshed out the world. Large elements of the original television series had world-building, but, it was ...

PBS video interview with Mark! https://twitter.com/tptAlmanac/status/790565025878454272 I don't know if he was just trying to get as many donuts out from under the hot lights or what, but the way that guy dives in and grabs 3+ donuts the second they are made available made me laugh. It felt very Pe...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

i really hope S3 utilizes the natural beauty of the forests and mountains. they have the capacity to make this thing look gorgeous and really deepen that sense of elemental mystery that lurks around the town. rumours about a lot of it taking place outside of twin peaks have me a tad worried on that...

Re: 'The Secret History of Twin Peaks' novel by M. Frost 10/18

Just finally got my copy today. Won't be able to read it yet though. Packard you say!? If Mark Frost is able to make that plot line in the original series comprehendible through the book, I'll consider it a masterwork. (It starts off relatively simple, but, by late season 2, it's just back stabbing,...

Ahhh- I missed it!! Did he give any hints as to the continuity things? I just caught the end where they asked about the number 1 key and Frost says "maybe"...

Anyone get their hands on the audio book? If so, how's the production?

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

The more I read about Twin Peaks (eg Audrey subbing in for Josie in Coop's romantic plot, Coop's eventual downfall planned from the start) What exactly were the behind the scenes circumstances that led to certain plot developments again? I always forget exactly what was what besides Sherilynn putti...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

For what it's worth, I thought the article James wrote was pretty fair. And the video he posted seemed to mostly be quotes. There wasn't a whole lot of spin to it (she *did* attack David Lynch .. after all someone asked something to the extent of "You aren't talking about DKL are you!??" a...

Re: FIRE WALK WITH ME script

Any place to read the original script? Does this include stuff that wasn't in the Missing Pieces (i.e., never filmed, like Ben Horne's stuff? I assume Audrey just wasn't in the script at all?) I'm mostly just curious about the differences. (For what it's worth, out of the Missing Pieces stuff, there...

Re: Original Season 3 Plans

Weren't there plans way back to do a comic adaptation of third season storylines for the Gold Box? The artist was in touch with either Peyton or Engels and got all this material, but Lynch ended up nixing it? Yep. I interviewed him. http://twinpeaksarchive.blogspot.com/2007/07/exclusive-matt-haley-...

Re: Recommendations for Watching While Waiting for Season 3

Completely unlike Twin Peaks, but, I highly highly recommend Halt and Catch Fire. Season 1 is fairly average, but, the show has consistently gotten so much better. Season 3 just ended and was very very compelling. It's a pretty short watch (3 10 episode seasons, with 10 more coming to wrap the show ...

Re: Take a poll

Better Call Saul (Saul Goodman, "It's All Good, Man!") and Fargo are great examples of the stuff that mix style with substance and do it very well. I just have a harsh opinion for things that use shock or formulas for their ratings. Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead keep doing the same...

Re: Does Anyone Dislike Episode 29?

While I absolutely love all the Lynchian Red Room stuff, I think the episode does have its weaknesses to be honest. Mostly, I think parts of it get dragged down because it's saddled with weaker plot elements from late that season which had to be integrated and wrapped up somehow. References to King...
