Re: What are the Owls?
Also, it wasn't retconned. Well, perhaps not technically, but let's not quibble. The origin of the messages was implied to be from "galaxies beyond our own" until clarified by Col. Riley 10 episodes later: "You may know something but ... you’d best get your facts straight. Our monito...

Re: Vedic/Hindu influence on FWWM
I was going to type "LOL, you had me for a second" and then...I googled "Ronnie Rocket script." Wow. a) I love that this is actually how the script ends. b) How did I not know the Ronnie Rocket script was out there in circulation until now?!?! Looks like I have some reading to d...

Re: FWWM questions (probably asked before but what the hell)
Then again, Desmond might have gotten as far as the elevator in the Philly office before stepping out into Argentina.

Cooper does dictate to Diane, "Not only has Agent Desmond disappeared without a trace..."LostInTheMovies wrote:Short version: do we ever see Cooper reference Desmond's disappearance in the Sam Stanley or Carl Rodd scenes? Or does he just talk about what Desmond did?

Re: Vedic/Hindu influence on FWWM
One thing I would be curious to know: to what extent was Lynch familiar with Hindu scripture in 1991? Looking forward to future posts! I'm reminded of one of Lynch's earliest and most explicit nods to Hinduism, at the very end of the Ronnie Rocket script. [Where we encounter Hiranyagarbha, the &quo...

Re: FWWM questions (probably asked before but what the hell)
P.S. When Cole asks in FWWM, "...where is Chester Desmond?", has anyone else noted that the figure approaching in the right-most video monitor appears to have a bearing very similar to Isaak/Desmond? Yes! It gets me every time. I always wonder if it's a coincidence. As it's the only movem...

Re: FWWM questions (probably asked before but what the hell)
Maybe I missed something, but why was the missing ring so important/relevant to the investigation? I can see why Stanley was concerned about it since he's so attentive to small details, but as the above scenes showed Chet was also concerned. "Let's hope it's there". Cooper, in the Missing...

Re: Andy “plank” scene and Philip Jeffries scene
Harry Dean Stanton is outstanding in that scene! The young foreign woman with the older bumpkin at Hap's also calls to mind Josie and Pete (both women wear pearl necklaces in their FWWM/Missing Pieces scenes, as well)... Which reminds me, the former bumpkin refers (twice) to that "little girl&q...

Re: What are the Owls?
Owls are traditionally thought to be messengers, observers, harbingers of fate or wisdom. They're often cited in alien abduction tales, where it's often suggested that they are screen memories ("The owls are NOT what they seem.") I recall - but don't remember where - seeing the acronym O.W...

Re: Andy “plank” scene and Philip Jeffries scene
Out of curiosity, what other connections do you see with the rest of the series in FWWM? I see lots of strong links with the pilot and a few with later parts of the first season, mostly relating to Laura's mystery. Is there a pre-existing thread for this topic? If not, by all means let's have a go ...

Re: Episode 23
My 2 cents RE Josie shooting Cooper: I always thought it was clear that Cooper made Josie nervous from day one ("I've got Agent Cooper with me. We're here to see Mrs. Packard." "I'll...make a fresh pot of coffee.") Josie could get away with her shenanigans with Truman under her t...

Re: Red Stitches ! ?
There is a scene in WaH where a construction worker walks behind Sailor and Lula carrying a long red pipe that spans the entire screen. There is a red hose in the background when Cooper investigates the site where the Chalfont trailer had been in FWWM...
