Re: Windom Earle storyline- what was wrong, what was right

I wouldn't be particularly surprised if he stuck to season 2, warts and all, treating the blemishes as an opportunity rather than an impediment. I also wouldn't be terribly surprised if I'm wrong and stuff does end up being retconned, given Lynch's professed disappointment with season 2, but I thin...

Re: Watching Season 3 Around the World

Here's hoping for HBO Nordic too. It would be a very easy, reasonably priced and handy way to get it. I just hope their technology and servers can handle the influx. Rumor has it they're not as good as Netflix'.

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

I love that Eddie Vedder song. To me, it sounds like the desert. I think that the music we hear during scenes in the actual town of Twin Peaks will be very similar to what we know... the town, the woods have that familiar sound. Since there are a bunch of new locations in Season 3, I think we shoul...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

Don't forget Kyle saying "there's a lightness to it" in the behind-the-scenes promo, which wouldn't make much sense if it's unrelentingly dark. It's really hard to read too much into that statement, because it's taken out of context. You don't know what Kyle was referring to- the new show...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

All the "good thing Frost is here to keep Lynch grounded" group has read and appreciated TSHOTP, yes? 'cause linear, non-esoteric narrative that wasn't... :o It doesn't have to be like the original, does not have to have a 90's atmosphere- but I would love for it to have as good or better...

Re: What is the most horrible translated German episode title (season 1)?

Laura is not actually resting in pain so that's one quite shitty. Cooper's dreams contain no dreams of Cooper and that's quite problematic too. I've always loved 'Zen' because that's imo a great throwaway to the bottle trowing scene. That would be my obvious vote for the best title but for the worst...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

That answers my questions then. Still curious how they will air these episodes unconventionally. Me too. Thing is I sort of don't want too much unconventionality . (I don't want to go out chasing BOB with my smartphone just to name an example). I'm thinking what if it's a theatrical release of the ...

Re: Your ideal Twin Peaks videogame

I usually think of my videogames in terms of RPGs. Maybe some mystery /action RPG with a slow burning plot where you can play everything from Dale Cooper to Andy and create your own mix in between?

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

Hence the releasing our beloved new TP episode by episode and not everything at once to end in a single one nighter binge watch. That's why I don't like Netflix and similar sized, seriously am old school on this topic. :) If True Detective season 1 would had been released all at once it would have ...

Re: Which actors from the Original Series will make surprise cameos in Season 3 of Twin Peaks?

Ontkean. I find it plausible that they were able to convince him to do a smaller cameo. Robert Bauer because he's confirmed. Other referring to David Bowie. It's actually my genuine suspicion that they did manage to get something with him. Even though it's far from all material they wanted, they wil...

Re: 'The Secret History of Twin Peaks' novel by M. Frost 10/18

Looks like the price for the book is already falling. I bought it for $29 as pre-order (online from a Norwegian store) and the other day it was down to $23 when I found it in-store (bought it as a Christmas present for my nephew). Is it falling elsewere too? Other way round for me. The price has in...

Re: 'The Secret History of Twin Peaks' novel by M. Frost 10/18

Yeah, I'm right there with 'ya. I love Twin Peaks and it's wonderful characters. It was a show that I thought (at least in season 1) was about the duality of man, the darkness in our hearts, the underbelly of the American dream. To me, tying it into goofy conspiracy theory inspired storylines invol...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

I understood from Mark's initial interviews about the Twin Peaks continuation that the Season 3 "skeleton" idea was Frost's and that Lynch liked it and joined the trip. So maybe the story is not as Lynchian as we may think (though i'm sure he remoulded it quite a bit) and closer to TSHOTP...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks

The alternative timeline theory doesn't sit too well with me either. It adds too much relativism in it for my taste. I realize that it is a Lynchian concept but one of the things I always loved about TP among many other things was that it was a fleshed out world and mythology that was very easy to t...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

It may be off-topic but, does anyone else actually want this to be the end of Twin Peaks? Not in a 'i hate it why won't it die' kind of way, but in that, as for me at least, I want this next season to have an air of finality about it. Of things coming to an end. Not neccessarily in a depressive Fir...
