Re: RE: Re: Part 7 - There's a body all right (SPOILERS)

They did talk about it though. "I don't think he greeted me properly." "I don't think he did." (Or was it "No he did not."?) You may have a point, although I took that as meaning his thumbs up greeting which is the very first thing Bad Coop does to actually greet Gordo...

Re: Part 7 - There's a body all right (SPOILERS)

I thought that the line was intentionally different... like it's a ten word "code" phrase that deep cover agents use when they come back in. Except that DopelCoop got it wrong... very wrong! Interesting theory. But a couple of things makes that theory a bit more unlikely than it being a m...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

She gave an interview recently where she stated that she too was surprised at how TP was supposed to walk away from Cole and Albert during the "blue scene". She was meant to act that way, it was in the script. I wish we should all be critical of how the character was set up and not of her...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Well, not true. I loved every part (the 6th part most of them all!), but was a little underwhelmed by the new one exactly because of how procedural, obvious and, I guess, markfrostian it sometimes felt. It was still a very nice part, but it lacked some of that artsy fartsy magic. I'm sorry but &quo...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Anyway, I like the show and follow it with interest, but being honest with myself, it IS a "like the show for what it is." Yeah, my issue all along has been that it's felt like a 'Lynchworld' TV show, featuring Twin Peaks. Ep 7 was the first time I really felt I was watching a new episode...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Pretentious is when people think it's art to show a bloke sweeping a room for five minutes for no good reason. Pretentious is wasting time so that a bunch of pseudo-intellectuals can pat each others' cheeks, pretending to love something for it's devious 'cleverness,' thinking they're seeing somethi...

Re: Part 7 - There's a body all right (SPOILERS)

You could ask 10 people here to repeat that line and I'm sure some would paraphrase it or get it wrong. Don't get hung up on that! It's trivial and he gets the point across. Sure, but the difference being that forum members being able to recall an exact sentence isn't central to any plot or a scene...

Re: Part 7 - There's a body all right (SPOILERS)

I agree with you both in principle and per the nature of Gordon's vocation. Normally it would bug me. In this case though, either version still adds up to 10 words which is the point or the particular point he's emphasizing. Yeah...But it bugs be that Lynch wouldn't make absolutely sure that he got...

Re: Part 7 - There's a body all right (SPOILERS)

Didn't it bother anybody that Gordon Cole got Bad Coop's sentence wrong? Bad Coop said "It's yrev very good to see you again old friend", but when Cole asks Tammy to hold out her hand and he goes through the fingers one by one, he says "I'm yrev very happy to see you again old friend&...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

If Part 7 doesn't convince you, it's time to tune out. I disagree. I liked episode 7, and I've liked various aspects of the return, but I think there is still room for improvement, and reason to stick around even if episode 7 didn't convince you. Things can get better, and I believe they will. As p...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

People calling S3 sublime or genius or Lynch's Magnum Opus (like you could make that call at this stage)...In this case I call bullshit. Whether self deluded, wishful thinking, or otherwise. Maybe not consciously lying but still equally full of shit. If you think that kind of bullshittery is uncomm...

Re: Part 5 (SPOILERS)

you can only speak for yourself. this might be a very challenging show for you, but it's getting great reviews and we're are already many extremely pleased fans. Well that is what opinion is; people expressing their own thoughts. You speak for yourself too. Other people agree on both sides of this ...

Re: Part 5 (SPOILERS)

Relationships with characters is great, but also a characteristic of 99,9% of television shows. But there is a *REASON* why emphasis on character is used in 99,9% of all shows. Using an argument like the one you used, in theory you could use it to praise anything Lynch would have done, no matter ba...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Episode five was the first episode I've enjoyed first watch. I don't know if it's because I've lowered my expectations and decided to roll with it, or just come to accept (even like?) whatever this thing is. . I think it's interesting that plenty of people who had nothing but praise for the first 4...

Re: Part 5 (SPOILERS)

Just finished watching Episode 5. I reiterate that I think it's a mistake to be airing this as a weekly TV series. It should have all been uploaded at once - or at the very least they should air 2 episodes a week. The pace continues to be glacial - but that's not the only problem. The whole narrati...
