Re: Tom Sizemore accused of molesting 11yo

Unfortunately there seems to be a lack of nuance in this discussion. Frankly t's worse to automatically label all accusers liars than it is to automatically label the accused as guilty. But neither is good, and let's not pretend one happens more than the other to fit the perspective we choose to hav...

Re: Kyle MacLachlan sounding far less optimistic about more Twin Peaks

If there is going to be more Twin Peaks, I would guess the process would be similar to how the third season came to be, only no one payed any attention to the possibility of more Twin Peaks when those discussions began (not even fans) and now discussions would happen under the shadow of attention an...

Would you prefer more Twin Peaks or an original Lynch/Frost production

Hypothetical situation: While discussing more Twin Peaks, Mark Frost and David Lynch bounce around ideas for an original story, and they both decide they want to do that instead of another season of Twin Peaks. Showtime green lights it. Like Season 3 it's entirely written by Frost and Lynch and dire...

Re: Blu Ray- Essential Movies to Have

Baraka and Samsara - Both are great "demo" Blu Rays, to test the prowess of your display and audio, and they are also both great cinematic experiences, albeit non-traditional, non-narrative and very idiosyncratic (to the point where certain people may not jive with its style or intentions).

Re: What Other Directors/Actors Think of Season 3

The whole tlj discourse is interesting, and to me it further proves that "subverting expectations", per se, is little more than an empty buzzword. Fandom talk is indeed very similar to TPTR fandom talk, yet I find myself on the opposite side of the fence. I don't see how TPS3 rather obvio...

Re: What Other Directors/Actors Think of Season 3

The fan backlash phenomenon we've seen so much of this year is interesting. Though I think it's worth noting that in the case of The Last Jedi, it wasn't made by the original creator and it was the case of an artist inheriting fan expectations rather than having created them himself. Still the overa...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

The inclusion of BTS footage of Lynch getting frustrated in the Blu Ray set seems rather pointed. I'm sure Lynch could have easily vetoed any of it being included. The vast majority of the frustration we are allowed to see him express has to do with scheduling, and it was particularly notable when h...

They don't talk about the book. I'd bet Sam Esmail hasn't read it.

Re: Tom Sizemore accused of molesting 11yo

It won't be fun to see Tom Sizemore on further rewatches of season 3. I guess The tangent discussion of how we as viewers deal with the conflict between admiring the art and condemning the artist is interesting, definitely one I've been mulling over as we watch the bottom fall out on a long history ...

Re: Sam Esmail interviews Mark Frost

If I had to guess about the "way back in" based on some other things he's said, I'd guess he was interested in Cooper's Homerian journey back home and what he finds when he gets there (discovering that things have changed beyond recognition). I felt, though they've never said anything indi...

I'm guessing the stretch of desert is Jornada Del Muerto (Dead Man's Journey): https://www.desertusa.com/desert-trails/jornada-del-muerto.html Good catch! Mark couldn’t remember the Spanish phrase. Jornada del Muerte is where Parsons and Hubbard conducted the Thelema ritual that is implied to have ...

Re: Mark Frost's Contributions to TP:TR (Speculation)

Mark Frost drops the most amount of detail yet about the process from which the new season developed in the Sam Esmail conversation. One very relevant note was that they did keep talking out the story until it made sense to both of them, and he very much paints a picture that Frost is totally on boa...

Re: Sam Esmail interviews Mark Frost

I particularly liked the tidbit about Frost seeing 2001 and writing a 15 page letter to Kubrick which he never got a response to. I have a feeling some Twin Peaks fans can relate.
