Re: Parts 3 & 4 - Call for help & ...brings back some memories (SPOILERS)
i'm actually just flicking through the unaired Mulholland Drive pilot on YouTube to see what differs in the edit (quite a lot to be sure, i think Sweeney edited the thing from scratch when it was turned into a feature). Is the full thing on YouTube? Could you PM a link? My understanding i...

Re: Mark Frost's Contributions to TP:TR (Speculation)
Without getting into the context, which would violate forum rules, it’s relevant to note this tweet from Mark today. the whole Jacoby / Dr Amp thing feels so much more Frost than Lynch.. from my observations Lynch has never been very interested in politics. other examples that struck me like that i...

Re: DoppelBob
Bob’s doppel was in a deleted scene from Episode 29. A single shot of him can be seen on one of the “atmospherics”/menus on the Blu Ray. When you say Bob's doppelgänger, do you mean two Frank Silvas? One with regular eyes and one with contacts? I think I remember seeing a still photograph taken on ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
Re: Mark Frost's quote about David Lynch's storytelling abilities. I responded to the same quote about a year ago, stating that the three films that Lynch has written without a co-writer are considered his three masterpieces: Eraserhead, Blue Velvet and Mulholland Drive. The writing credits for Mul...

Re: Part 13 - What story is that, Charlie? (SPOILERS)
Ray clarifies (?) “Jeffries”’ motives: Ray has only ever spoken to Jeffries on the phone, he makes it sound like his imprisonment was a set-up to protect him and/or bait Mr. C (?), and Jeffries wants Mr. C dead because he has something inside him “they” want (Bob). Who are “they”? The case for “Jeff...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
As far as Mark's contribution, he says he types. http://www.slate.com/articles/arts/television/2017/05/twin_peaks_creators_david_lynch_and_mark_frost_s_strange_sublime_collaboration.html and DL says SHOTP is Mark's TP, emphasis mine, and to me that meant all the concessions to Mark wanting some nar...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
VERY interesting observations from Frost. It makes perfect sense that the only 2 Lynch projects that gained mainstream success were collaborations: TP and Elephant Man (the script was written by someone else). Important correction/clarification: the script to The Elephant Man was COwritten by Lynch...

I would also like to see this. Engels writing was some of my favourite during the original. And FWWM. It’s tough to tell what exactly Engels wrote, besides Episodes 4 and 10, because everything else with his name on it is a joint venture. And he seems to talk more in interviews about the general TP...

Re: Gender in Twin Peaks: The Return (SPOILERS)
Hmm I don’t recall Hawk calling her evil. He said Frank never wants to know about her, which fits with Judy being an enemy to humanity, but not necessarily objectively evil. Gordon is the only person I recall calling her evil. I might be misremembering though? My thinking was that she is a facet of ...

Re: Part 12 - Let's rock (SPOILERS)
There’s still something a little odd about Albert acting as the straight-faced mouthpiece for all this mythological mumbo jumbo. I know, people have justified it by saying every supernatural investigation team needs a Dana Scully. But he doesn’t come across as a Scully in S3 — in the original show, ...

Re: Gender in Twin Peaks: The Return (SPOILERS)
I haven’t been active in this thread because I don’t feel particularly qualified, as an entitled white male. But I’ve enjoyed following the perspectives shared. As things are slowing down on the board overall, I thought I’d repost something I originally said in the Part 8 thread last week: I know th...

Re: Poll: Would you like to see a 4th season happen? (SPOILERS PERMITTED)
I think I'd be curious to see a S4 written by Lynch and Engels. No Frost. Maybe the reason The Return didn't work was the incongruity in their working relationship. Or maybe it would be just as bad as S3. I'll be watching either way! I would also like to see this. Engels writing was some of my favo...

Re: Theresa Banks, timelines, and more
Hmmm. I don't necessrily agree with your theory, but I'm intrigued by this. So, time in the Lodge being nonlinear, perhaps the Fireman doesn't "create" the Laura orb in Part 8 upon Judy's entrance into the world. Perhaps he instead recalls her into active duty, tearing her from the Lodge ...
