Re: Theory: Lucy is not a blithering idiot. ...She's giving us clues about the duality that permeates the show. (SPOILE

I don't think Lucy's being excluded from the switchboard or that the switchboard is hidden. She's just not the dispatcher, she's the receptionist. Comm Center/911/Dispatch isn't the same as being an officeworker. Lucy's a receptionist and administrator, an old-fashioned one who uses old phones and p...

Re: Episode 5 Character Parentage Poll (Spoilers )

Jerry is the only one incompetent enough to raise such a horrible monster. Ben and Sylvia managed to get Audrey, who underneath her badgirl exterior was a decent person. I don't see Audrey raising someone so out of control, I think she'd manage to keep her kids in line. I mean, she got her FATHER in...

Re: Part 5 (SPOILERS)

Jacoby's a fascinatingly complex dude. Remember his monologue to Coop in the cemetery about his ambivalence toward his patients. And his first appearance was fingering the hula girl on his tie while giggling about a patient of his who had just died hours earlier. He became blander in season 2, but ...

Re: Part 5 (SPOILERS)

@Ragnell That's a really strong post. I agree with pretty much all of it except I think we may not know yet what exactly gold signifies. Did the gold pearl signify artificiality or did it signify identity/self? Did it imply that Cooper's identity, the golden pearl, had been taken from him and place...

Re: Part 5 (SPOILERS)

Jacoby is also presented in the deleted material from FWWM (The Missing Pieces) as an old pervert asking a disgusted Laura to send him kisses over the phone. Jacoby is a lot of contradictory things - some spiritual, some self-loathing, some benevolent - but in the end he was a middle-aged man lusti...

Re: Part 5 (SPOILERS)

Jacoby's rants aren't disconnected from our story, however. Currently they're expanding thematically the key problem -- this is a world gone to ****. There's intentional irony here too: Jacoby and others sense something's corrupt in the world, but they blame it on material-political causes when Lyn...

Re: Twin Peaks: The Missing Music

I have a theory about this, but I have to talk about Episode 4 to explain it so I'll cover it with a spoiler font. The two classic music cues I caught were Hawk searching the woods and finding Glastonbury Grove in 1/2, and Bobby seeing Laura's picture in Ep 3. From that, I believe the music has some...

Re: POLL! Your reaction to Twin Peaks: The Return, pts. 1 through 4

I think people are thrown by how much out of town action there is, but it feels like an expansion. The town itself was unique so it makes sense the rest of the world feels different.

Personally I am enjoying it a lot and even found Ep 3 a lot funnier on the second watch.
