Re: Part 10 - Laura is the one (SPOILERS)
Maybe this is obvious, but I've noticed how increasingly TPTR's structure is a symmetric reflection of the original Twin Peaks's. In TP, the story starts with the finding of Laura's body, and from that singular starting point the story continually spreads and expands along many different threads. I...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread
So, it seems absolutely no-one watched "Twin Peaks" live last sunday. Since it is not listed here, it must have drawn fewer than 730.000 viewers

Re: Part 10 - Laura is the one (SPOILERS)
I think you are just overthinking it. She called the police station. Chad in one way or another made sure no one acted on it. Then Miriam sent a letter. Seems like simple and good plotting to me.

Re: Part 10 - Laura is the one (SPOILERS)
Any chance we might get back to discussing episode 10? I think starting a separate thread for this gender debate has been suggested many times now.

Re: Part 10 - Laura is the one (SPOILERS)
What do you think about how she's barely had an exchange with her own child? I need to re-watch the kitchen scene where she's making breakfast but unless she maybe says a few words to Sonny Jim during that time, I dont' see where they've had any interaction and that makes me wonder how 'real' she i...

Re: Part 9 - This is the chair (SPOILERS)
I wouldn't bet on the events of the book jiving with the show. Perhaps the whole dossier was just a narrative device created for the book. Apparently Lynch never read the book, and referred to it as "*his* [Frost's] history of Twin Peaks" - ie not Lynch's. http://www.gq.com/story/david-ly...

Re: Part 9 - This is the chair (SPOILERS)
I would certainly recommend reading TSHOTP to anyone enjoying the new season. It enrichens the experience considerably. I doubt if Part 8 would have felt as rich to me if I hadn't read the book first. A few examples of how the book and show work together is the following: In part 3 Bobby tells us th...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread
Here's an article I found interesting: http://www.indiewire.com/2017/07/twin-peaks-ratings-2017-season-4-game-of-thrones-1201853930/ I agree with MT Wentz that no one but Showtime can determine whether or not this is a "success" from their perspective. So many factors to consider. But thi...

It is, but it is possible that BadCoop finds scissors. This could become necessary if his plan leads to Twin Peaks.DeepBlueSeed wrote:Is it not the shorter haired Coop?wxray wrote:Still not sure which Coop is driving the car.

Could the "Penguin" referenced by Sky Ferreira be Annie Blackburn and her past (possibly present) as a nun?

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread
Not sure where else to put this. On Disc 3 of the Blu-Ray set, there's an unusual shot of the Double R diner, shot through a window, which seems to show Harry Dean Stanton - or someone who looks like him. I've never seen this shot in the show. Anyone know what it is? Can you make a screencap (or ta...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread
Interesting and highly accurate thoughts Ruddager. Does anyone have any ideas how to get US Showtime viewers to give the show a chance? It seems that the problem is not so much that they tuned in and didn't like what they saw, but rather that they didn't tune in in the first place. The shows ratings...

Re: Part 8 - Gotta light? (SPOILERS)
Its beautiful how much they've been able to use BOB in the series without a recast. Very creative! In general, the actors that Lynch/Frost knew they couldn't use due to fatalities turned out to be the ones they relied on the most to tell their story (Bob, Briggs, Jeffries). Creativity is funny that...
