Re: Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces - analysis/thoughts etc

I'm not sure what Ray Wise's take would be on that short segment - I think he's maintained that the way he reconciled the twist was to take the more literal interpretation, which was that Leland was by and large just a hapless vessel for BOB who would never harm his daughter. I may be misreading som...

Re: Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces - analysis/thoughts etc

I think Laura's comments about there still being secrets and things not known was a very specific teaser for the new series. Whether those secrets are about her, who knows.

Re: Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces - analysis/thoughts etc

Before watching the interviews I was much more interested in Leland and Laura than Sarah. After watching the interviews, I'm no less intrigued by Laura and Leland but I thought the interview wish Sarah was astounding. [...] I've never been as affected by a portrayal of grief as I was by Grace Zabri...

Re: How did you react to these turning points in Twin Peaks?

Thank you for that. The closer we get to something tangible, the more it hits harder to remember. I don't know what I'll do with myself when we have visual or physical evidence.

Re: Which New Actors Would You Cast?

Woody does seem like a nice fit for Lynch. Maybe we could just import most of the S1 True Detective cast over? ;) No thanks, I already watched someone else's show. From the looks of things, most of the original cast will likely appear in some capacity. I have no problem with new people and I expect...

Re: Blue Rose...Blue Dye

What interests me about the blue rose is the repeated assertion I've seen that blue was explicitly banned from the color palette of the show by Lynch during production - that's a claim repeated in Brad's book by one of the guest directors, possibly Stephen Gyllenhaal? Yet I certainly recall seeing q...

Thanks, I think I've seen those - maybe on the Blu-Ray set.

Re: Episode 7

I wanted to drop in and mention one of my all-time favorite scenes: Catherine and Pete's reconciliation. IIRC, Season 2 scripts often have Catherine directed to treat Pete with barely-veiled contempt (and then there's that random Ben/Catherine tryst scene during the Civil War subplot, which I can't ...

Re: Twin Peaks Music Guide - Pilot and Season 1

So I'm a novice to all this, and I looked up front, but I'm going crazy nonetheless - I just was rewatching Episode 7 and hearing the version of Laura's theme that plays as Donna opens Jacoby's coconut around 3:40, with the piano sting or something. I believe the first page calls it "Laura Palm...

Re: Fan edits, fan art, official editing, etc...

If someone does find a link to Northwest Passage, feel free to shoot it to me. I am curious as to how it knits all the free-floating material together. I don't think there is a way for it to properly cover the Maddy/Donna/James end of things without shortchanging them.

Re: Twin Peaks: Season Three confirmed for 2016 on Showtime

"Superior", "amateur", "off-base"...Opinion words. >They think their thing is better than the original >You think their thing is amateur, and the original is better >You get annoyed when they talk about their thing being superior, because you disagree. Thus you are ann...

Re: Twin Peaks: Season Three confirmed for 2016 on Showtime

The only time that annoys me is when someone tries to tout their thing as superior when it isn't...Or when people say something is superior to the original when it's kludgily cut together. You're basically just saying "I get annoyed when people prefer things that I don't!" in a less immed...

Re: Twin Peaks: Season Three confirmed for 2016 on Showtime

I'm even opposed to fanedits to cut the bad eggs from Season 2. As am I. But then, my screen name is taken from one of the more reviled mid-Season 2 subplots. While they certainly exist in other fandoms, I have yet to encounter any TP fansites (or fan edits or efforts) which are attempting to explo...

Re: Twin Peaks: Season Three confirmed for 2016 on Showtime

I don't have a problem with fans wanting to create their own edits in tribute to something they love. The only time that annoys me is when someone tries to tout their thing as superior when it isn't - which rarely happens, really. Or when people say something is superior to the original when it's kl...
