Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
I mean, if the book says that Harry Truman has a brother named Frank, because they need to set up another Sheriff Truman character for the new show, and there had been one line in one episode of the series where Harry happened to mention that he was an only child.... that kind of thing doesn't reall...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
To me there is a world of difference between the inconsistencies from the old Twin Peaks books and the inconsistencies in this new book. Expecting Lynch to remain 100% faithful to spin-off material when making a Twin Peaks movie, especially when circumstances forced them to revise their initial scre...

Re: SPOILERS: The Secret History of Twin Peaks
It may have all appeared in the thread already but can somebody who's read the book do a rundown of what it tells us about post-series events?

I think David Duchovny is much better known than Heather Graham.Mr. Reindeer wrote:I don't know; based on our limited information, it seems like they didn't approach Heather Graham, a much bigger name with far more cache these days.

Re: The Unorthodox/Controversial TP Opinion Thread
Denise was fun, but if she had been played by some no name actor rather than David Duchovny I very much doubt we would be seeing her again.

Re: Beyond Season 3?
When Twin Peaks was on originally I wanted it to go on forever. But over the years since, I've come to believe that it was a mistake conceiving the show as an ongoing, open ended series (especially a network series with 20+ episodes a year) and that it would have been much stronger if it had been de...

Holy cow, American Chronicles -- I forgot this ever existed! I haven't seen one reference to it nor has it otherwise entered my brain since 1990.DeerMeadowRadio wrote:Feb 1990 -- Somehow instead MF films episode of American Chronicles instead of Storyville

Re: Twin Peaks Music Guide - Pilot and Season 1
-- Danger Theme (my name for it; call it what you want). It starts (under The Bookhouse Boys track) just as Nadine hassles Ed from their doorstep about picking up the drapes. This music, which, for my money, gets its most memorable (i.e. frightening) iteration in Episode 2, when Mike and Bobby trud...

Re: FWWM and TP: Disparities and Explanations?
Isn't there a shot in FWWM where Laura throws the Tremond picture in the garbage, or at least takes it off the wall and turns it over? Am I imagining that?

Re: How will the new Twin Peaks be received?
The mistake they made with Twin Peaks in the first place was trying to turn it into an ongoing series*, instead of doing a mini-series with a complete story and one director and writing team at the helm. I think they want to rectify that mistake this time, and have no intention of reviving the show ...

Re: unanswered questions / mistakes / etc.
Another item that bugs me is that in the early part of Season 2 (2 eps before Killer is revealed), during the Police room recap with Albert/Andy confrontation Albert says "You'll recall the killer placed a letter "T" under Theresa Banks finger". That is NEVER mentioned in the se...

Re: Worthiest Missing Piece?
2. "We just saw him disappear" - no, we didn't. The CAMERA fades to black on a freeze frame of him almost but not quite touching the ring. The whole notion that he disappeared came about through editing. Notice how OBVIOUSLY dubbed it is into the scene: Albert with the phone: "I've g...

Re: Worthiest Missing Piece?
All this talk of the continuity and condensing of Laura's last week reminds me - when was the picnic with Donna and James supposed to be? I wonder if it was ever even considered or drafted or if they just said 'fuck it'. I don't mind the film's rather loose approach to some of that continuity, but ...

Re: Worthiest Missing Piece?
The highlight of the Missing Pieces for me was the complete Philip Jeffries/convenience store scene, which was a hacked up mess in the finished movie. But I always felt that it would have made a lot more "sense" and tied the first part of the movie together better if it had been Chet Desmo...

Re: Cooper in season 3: good Coop or evil Coop?
I mean think about it, if episode 29 had resolved most of the threads of the season instead of dropping that gnarly cliffhanger on us, would the interest in a revival be so strong? What would be the reason we need to go back to this story? It's also telling that Kyle Machlachlan was the earliest ca...
