Re: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Blu-ray 12/5/17

I'll be happy with anything from the Blu-ray extras. Remarkably little behind-the-scenes material (photos, videos) for this ultra-secretive production has come out. If we get a lot of on-set footage (ala the INLAND EMPIRE DVD, the Criterion MULHOLLAND DR. Blu-ray), I will eat it up. I'm not expectin...

Re: Predictions - will Season 3 be the last Twin Peaks? (SPOILERS)

I loved, loved, loved, loved, LOVED Season 3... and I think that it's the end. It feels right. "Twin Peaks" should not end with everything neatly settled. It should end murky and mysterious. It's the "Twin Peaks" way. It's dark and beautiful and crazy and impenetrable. This isn't...

Re: FINAL POLL!!!!!!! Your Reaction to The Return as a Complete Work

I loved it. I think about it every day. It's one of my favorite things I've ever seen. For me, the most memorable quote from Lynch himself about his own work is that he considers his biggest influence to be real life. And, even with its many fantastic elements, I think that the new Twin Peaks might ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Satisfied Support Group (SPOILERS)

When a new Twin Peaks project was announced about three years ago, I loved it not because I wanted a trip back to the 90s and to hang out with those old characters, but because the world of Twin Peaks seemed like a perfect platform for David Lynch to REALLY go to the fucking moon and surprise and en...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)

Episode 18 is brilliant. It's the new Episode 29 of the original run. There was no social media or internet message boards in June 1991, but if there had been, I think the reception to this finale and its predecessor would have been identical. Both episodes are set in alternate dimensions. Both epis...

Re: How can we get a season 4? Cancel Showtime.

Going by those quotes from the Showtime exec in the articles floating around, I get the impression that it's largely up to Lynch and Frost whether or not anything further happens with Twin Peaks. In any case, do what y'all want, but I'm going to keep Showtime for awhile. So I can watch "The Ret...

Re: Part 16 - No knock, no doorbell (SPOILERS)

Twin Peaks: The Return is one of the greatest things I've ever seen. Its unpredictability, deliberation, sprawl, mystery, beauty and madness is singular among films, in my experience. I love, love, love, love it. This ride has been ridiculous fun.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Me too, ASMR is awesome. Haven't seen the latest episode yet but (kind of) looking forward to. Yaxomoxay - that was an unusual spurt of aggression from you! Very out of character. Honestly I think at this point I'm going to find it hard to care much about Ed and Norma for the reasons others have st...

I'm starting to think that James's "Just You" Roadhouse performance to a crying Renee was all in his head.

Re: Predictions - will Season 3 be the last Twin Peaks? (SPOILERS)

THE RETURN feels like an ending to me. When David Lynch calls it a "feature film in eighteen parts", to me that implies that it's a complete piece. Also, one thing that I love about the Roadhouse music scenes that many of the songs are neat little reflections of the show's themes and chara...

Re: Part 14 - We are like the dreamer (SPOILERS)

I like the green glove guy, too. It's absurd and campy. I've seen a few people groan over it ("What? A SUPERHERO in Twin Peaks?"), but I have little doubt that Lynch and Frost are going to make very unconventional use of him.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Not those exact lines, but they recall the One-Armed Man's poem of 'through the darkness of future's past'... Yeah, I can see that too. I wonder how many of those that like season three are new to the series or only recently got into twin peaks? And how many of those that hate the season are long s...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I am madly in love with TWIN PEAKS: THE RETURN, but I like this thread. I think THE RETURN should be controversial. People should be arguing about it and raging over it. David Lynch's vision for it as an 18-hour feature film continues to intrigue me (it explains its weird rhythm, its digressions, it...
