Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

I mean... and to shift the focus away from Lynch for a bit: 4 or so years have passed since The Secret History book was released and we still haven't gotten anything from its writer about all the changes that were applied to the previously established canon. Nothing whatsoever about how and why the...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

One reason I hardly post anymore, or enjoy conversing about TP online is the staunch rejection of the slightest criticism of Lynch. It is all or nothing in this circle. I'm sorry if that's the case and hope I haven't contributed to that, but I think there's a difference between criticizing the work...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

To offer some counterpoint, everyone I personally know who's a TP buff thinks S3 is superior to the original, and many of them (myself included) grew up and were 'shaped' in ways very personal to us because of old TP. Then again, these are all people who are into film or Lynch more than they were in...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

@ LateReg & JackwithOneEye: Your posts are wonderful write-ups and are pretty much how I feel. The draw of Twin Peaks when it was just a brief international sensation was the effect, after all, of what has always been a somewhat lascivious and voyeuristic and guilty experience. Cooper ain't a sa...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

I'd love to see the Brad Dukes book updated to cover S3, but it'll never happen I guess. Why do you say that? Has Dukes said anything on the subject? That would be one of the precious few TP-related projects that I actually see coming to fruition in the foreseeable future (probably without any kind...

Re: Daily Weather Report: The Return

Heh, I will guiltily admit when he said the date wrong yesterday, I immediately thought of Agent Earle and the other posters who believe Lynch has dementia (which I 100% see no evidence of). I also worried for a moment the first day, not for whether he had dementia but, something more sudden, like ...

Re: Daily Weather Report: The Return

That's two days in a row now of getting the date wrong. Yesterday, 2001, today, we jump to 2041. Once was a mistake, but twice in a row? Cue the TP quote--you know the one. That truly is taking the quarantine seriously as it gets. I have not heard of anyone being even remotely careful as him....

What might an upside-down 7 indicate in terms of the universe today?

Re: Part 15 - There's some fear in letting go (SPOILERS)

Just realized some potentially meaningful visual parallels in the Gersten & Stephen scene, which works especially well if you're a firm believer that it was originally scripted as Donna (as I stubbornly am). It's a flipside version of Donna & James' iconic in-the-woods scene in the pilot. Th...

Very coy hints at how engaged he is with politics. And I swore I was reading too much into the choice of Hit the Road, Jack.

Wow, this came out back around August and I never heard about it. If anyone's interested, there's one up on eBay.

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

I just can’t understand why LFB would sign on for this film but passed on Twin Peaks. If it's true that she was supposed to be in Gersten's role, perhaps she felt uncomfortable that what would essentially be a comeback role would be one of a possibly predatory, addled woman who had had a fall from ...

Re: The biggest problem with The Return - the fear/mystery element largely missing?

Agree with you guys, not to dogpile onto Kilmoore. Quite the contrary to the notion that Lynch slapped TP onto S3, the way I see it is rather that if you went into S3 with some kind of surgical knife, cut out the 'thin threads' to TP and looked over what you had left, it would fall apart completely;...

Re: Daily Weather Report: The Return

Heh, nice. October 12's weather report is pretty good. I stopped watching them regularly, it's a bit too much. The determination of that man is amazing. I find them comforting to watch daily, although I often forget and have to play catch-up in batches of three or four. Nice to see Lynch every day ...
