Re: General Discussion on the New Series (All Opinions Welcome)

Was listening to And Light Shines from The Big Dream and the opening struck me as relevant In all configurations The curve is the thing that can go back on itself Over and over As the stars turn around each other And light the way for travelers Who come along through time Looking for that one that c...

Re: Sincerity

Yeah, no doubt. Sorry, I didn't mean that against your use of the word here, but rather against the use of the word in general, precisely because, as you said, it is the word that was often being strewn about by those who felt duped by The Return. Critic Matt Zoller Seitz unleashed a tweet storm ab...

Sincerity

We live in a much more cynical society than we did 20 or 30 years ago and that has had an impact on the way we engage with everything. The most recent re-evaluation of something I hated when it came out was Speed Racer. I thought it was hokey, childish, unrealistic, and viewing the world though non-...

Re: General Discussion on the New Series (All Opinions Welcome)

This blog post from Chrysta Bell details some of her experience behind the scenes on The Return as well as the story of her song "Blue Rose". I've included the Peaks parts below. When One Door Closes I had never indulged in one moment of fantasy about being in Twin Peaks if it did actually...

Re: General Discussion on the New Series (All Opinions Welcome)

Semi related article from a few years back that I thought was really good and found very relevant to this show Interesting indeed. I like the balance a few 90s TV shows had between standalone episodes & mythology arcs. In X-Files, for example -- particularly the earlier seasons -- the standalon...

I'm stone sober and I had the exact same thought. Assumed it was some sort of joke mock up referencing Duchovny and Red Shoe Diaries or something.
