Re: Episode 27

Having recently reviewed the later part of season 2, some of which I had only seen once, I was really impressed with this episode. Granted, there were a few scenes that I admittedly skipped through, but overall I think it's a contender for the best episode of the those between 16 and 29. There is a...

Re: SPOILERS: Inconsistencies in the Secret History of Twin Peaks

Also, remember the scene in Episode 23 (I think) when Norma confirms to Shelly that her younger sister is indeed coming to Twin Peaks, she says something along the lines of "Annie was always different, like she was from another time and place." I'm paraphrasing, but that was the gist of it...

Re: They live inside a dream.

I, too, have toyed with the idea that Rita may be a stand-in for the more plain looking ex-roommate. I don't know if I'm with you 100% on your analysis, but I think you're onto something and appreciated a fresh take, if nothing else, as I'm also a little weary of the now popular theory that it's as ...

Re: Episode 16

Don't get me wrong, Episode 16 is part of Twin Peaks, and I love anything Twin Peaks. I just don't like this particular entry as much as some others do.

Re: Episode 16

Feels great to know I'm not alone. I too have wondered how much better this episode could have been had Lynch been steering the wheel. Also, good point about Ray Wise giving it all he had. A fine actor, I blame the writing and especially the direction of Tim Hunter for this letdown.

Re: Episode 16

I may be in the minority here, but I see this episode as a near disaster. It begins with a corny, pointless slo mo shot off our Merrymen walking through what looks like a city park, a cheap location they'd clearly just settled on. And then a glut of low angle, tilted shots to try and hide the fact t...

Re: Episode 2

This episode is a thing of beauty. From Lucy sticking her tongue out at Albert after he calls her "Curley", to Coop pinching Harry's nose (and his genuine amused reaction) to Hawk's deadpan bewilderment when Coop misses hitting the bottle by a country mile during one of his rock tosses (th...

Re: Episode 3

I, too, think this is an underappreciated episode. I'm now rewatching the series for the 7th or 8th time, and with each viewing this entry stands out a little more. The cinematography is particularly strong (as far as non-Lynch directed episodes go) and the funeral scene and Bookhouse Boys introduct...

Re: The first line of TP's central mystery

And remember that Harry seems genuinely dumbfounded by the contents of Laura's safety deposit box, as well as every peeling away of her layers of secrecy. Pete's phone call is odd, no doubt, but I always saw it as just one of those quirky Lynch line deliveries.

Re: The Supernatural, Silva and the Season 2 Problem

I'll admit, my first time through the series I was disappointed that Leland seemed to have been inhabited by some kind of parasitic demon. To me, one of season one's greatest strengths is its restraint. The suggestion of dark forces and the unexplained works better for me than the overt demonic poss...

Re: Question for Pacific North West residents

Well, I've never been that early in the year, but we went to Snoqualmie Falls and then to Mt. Hood in Oregon in April of 2014. It was beautiful. Canon Beach and along the coast was around 80 F and then temps would vary from 70 F to 30 F depending on proximity to coast/mountains, etc. A lot of mist a...
