Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

We are currently at viewership ratings panic and denial phase of the thread, time until phase is over: no ETA It's just making conversation, and some people find these metrics interesting. Nobody's panicking, it seems everyone is pretty rationally discussing how the viewing figures look, and whethe...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

Interesting and highly accurate thoughts Ruddager. Does anyone have any ideas how to get US Showtime viewers to give the show a chance? It seems that the problem is not so much that they tuned in and didn't like what they saw, but rather that they didn't tune in in the first place. The shows rating...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

Sign the petition for season 4! m Seems a bit early for a petition, no? Besides, the best way to get Showtimes attention is to get the ratings up, rather than signing a petition while the show is still on the air, or for actual subscribers to write to their actual providers and just state that they...

Off topic, but for all the crap IM3 gets, it actually cleverly subverted the middle eastern terrorist thing.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

What I dot understand is why go back to the nuclear bomb? Something which has been explored in countless works of art, when their are a million things which are just as haunting happening in the world today. Islamic terror? The rise of totalitarian ideologies? Militantism? Imperialism? Instead we a...

Re: *Strategies On Surviving 2 Week Wait After Part 8*

I'll probably give the past 4 episodes a re-watch (as I've only watched them once or twice a piece). Plus, I probably should give Game of Thrones Season 6 a rewatch before the new season airs. And I picked up the Mulholland Drive Criterion, so, I should give that a watch. I guess I'm not stressing a...

I miss these guys: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CSqgyURUYAA73Y9.png:large I guess what this new season has taught me, all its possible time travel themes notwithstanding, is that you can't go back in time, which admittedly isn't really Lynch's fault per se. And obviously not his goal. Well, to be fa...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

So after a positively received episode, the show goes to a series low (excluding episodes 3 & 4 here since they were available for a week before they aired). It will be interesting to see which way the ratings go after episode 8. The 1-week break might cause a bump when it comes back. But, I th...

Re: Part 8 - Gotta light? (SPOILERS)

someone said that is a mystery of what Laura whisper to Cooper in Part 1! But I think it's obvious that she whisper the same think as in season 1 episode 3. She told him that the killer is her father because in the dream Cooper was old as he is now Yes, but maybe she gave Coop some additional infor...

Re: Part 8 - Gotta light? (SPOILERS)

It seems to me that Laura has been reborn in 1956. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk That.. could make a lot of damn sense actually. If this is an Annie situation where they're changing the past and not just a flashback. Then Coop literally has to find a new Laura in the world. I like that and it ...

Re: Part 8 - Gotta light? (SPOILERS)

The convenience store scene was definitely hurt by not having TLMFAP or the Chalfonts or even The Jumping Man included. I mean, I'm sure we all connected the dots and everything, but not seeing any of those characters was weak. I do think of the few weaknesses this season has, and obviously a large...

Re: Part 8 - Gotta light? (SPOILERS)

Probably pointed out, but, with all the nuke connections, it really makes it appropriate that the Sheriff of Twin Peaks when Laura was killed was Harry S. Truman, the same name of the President who dropped two nukes on Japan.

Re: Part 8 - Gotta light? (SPOILERS)

i thought the little boy was a young leland but the years don't work out right. maybe the little girl will be leland's mother? Yeah, i thought that's where they were going with it too. Not so sure now, though. Grace Zabriski was born 41. This was 56, so she'd be 15. I think you can age Leland up or...

Re: Part 8 - Gotta light? (SPOILERS)

Holy. Went full 2001 meets Stan Brakhage at parts. Feels like nukes awoke an evil of some kind. Or Bad Coop with Bobs spirit nearly dying (and being revived) was earth tilting. Was the young woman supposed to be Sarah Palmer being given the seed for Laura? Not sure how much I like retroactive signif...
