Re: Viewer reaction is the same as it was back then

I don't think the reaction is the same at all just for the fact that people in '90 were enthusiastic about the show because of the mystery we felt we needed to solve. That was the real hook. With this current show, it's gone out of its way not to have that central mystery. It's just kind of plodding...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Yes I thought exactly this. Maybe what we're seeing is a kind of "prologue" to the actual, 9-part Twin Peaks. I wouldn't call it a prologue, but it seems like it may be introducing some characters that could be more important down the stretch even though they don't have a place at the mom...

I didn't know about this. What's the reason?

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Anybody else suspect that the show migbt be divided in half, with the front nine detailing Good Coop's return to himself and TP, and the back nine centering on a TP-centric story with Good versus Evil Coop? I wonder if perhaps what we are currently watching is the "addition" they made afte...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I really hope not. I hate the alien stuff in TP. One thing I noticed. I'm sure others have too - in an early episode, maybe 1 or w Bad Coop told that guy, Let's get it straight. I don't NEED anything. I WANT things'. He says the same in Laura' diary. If that's where it's going (if it's going anypla...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I'm sure this has been answered on other threads but EvilCoop is not Bob right? I mean it's like there is Bob in him but he seems to have his own identity as well. This is what I don't really get. Why would Bob be running with gangsters and slinging dope? I also find him the most compelling to watc...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

My favorite character has been EvilCoop, and I think it's imperative that he be let loose and for us to discover the full breadth of what he can do and what he wants . . . soon, same with Dougie turning back to Coop proper. I really hope Evil Coop isn't just aspiring to keep himself out of the Lodge...

Re: Favourite part so far (SPOILERS)

I also liked the Cole/Bob meeting. I took it less as creepy and more absurd the tone of voice he had. Evil Coop is by far the best character in this show. With him loose, I'm hoping the show will get a much-needed dose of horror.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

As far as the look, this digital and the digital of "Inland" are nothing alike. "Inland" was shot with a camcorder, and he liked it because of the portability. I really wish this show had been shot with a similar camcorder and had the same or similar look. Clarity and surrealism ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I watched Part 7 this morning, and as the day has gone on, I'm finding myself feeling more negative towards it (when I initially thought it was okay/average) and more positive towards Part 6, which I initially hated but re-watched last night. The whole continuity error with the diary pages, and anot...

Re: The timeline of the key passage from Laura's diary (SPOILERS)

One thing I got out of this is the realization that Leland might've had these pages with him for several days after murdering her daughter. He really kept these pages with him and obviously didn't want to get rid of them. He didn't hide the pages to get rid of them but to keep them safe until he ca...

Re: The timeline of the key passage from Laura's diary

I mean, you could come up with any number of explanations considering how past and future sometimes don't matter in this show, or entities that can go anywhere, two of whom were next to Harold, but I'm more inclined to believe this was a lazy mistake. I doubt that the story of how these pages got in...

Re: The timeline of the key passage from Laura's diary

Yeah, it seems like just a flat error. When she finds the pages missing, she takes it right to Harold where it stays. It's only later that she meets Annie. It's incredible that they didn't go back and watch this to get it right. I'm sure that some fans are already trying to come up with an excuse.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Was anyone else dissapointed with Diane, by the way ? I thought Laura Dern really put on an "overacting show". Yes, I hated the character and her performance (they couldn't come up with something better than "Fuck you"?). I've also mostly disliked Watts's performance. Watts is o...

Re: Favourite part so far (SPOILERS)

I liked Evil Coop's scene with Darya in the motel. MacLachlan's performance was great, and the scene exuded an air of interesting mystery which most of the rest of the show hasn't had.
