Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I just saw that a doppelganger to this thread has appeared, seriously: "Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Satisfied Support Group (SPOILERS)" . All the best to the fine folks over there. :) If they are satisfied with the series, why do they even need a support group? Are they unhappy that...

I just saw that a doppelganger to this thread has appeared, seriously: "Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Satisfied Support Group (SPOILERS)" . All the best to the fine folks over there. :) Let's all pile in there and tell them why they're wrong, lol. I actually already did that but made ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Laura has always been the character I loved most and so I have to admit that the scenes with her were maybe the only ones in TPTR that I found gripping. But why did Lynch have to do this to her and Coop? The FWWM ending was so perfect. The ending of FWWM could still be placed after series 3. There ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I watched the last two parts in spite of my better judgement. There was some terrible stuff in it, the Green Glove Boy scene is presumably deliberately abysmal. But deliberately abysmal does not equal good. Laura has always been the character I loved most and so I have to admit that the scenes with ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Satisfied Support Group (SPOILERS)

TPTR sucked. You're all wrong to love it and really only love it because you're die-hard Lynch/TP fan boys. Your reasons for liking it aren't genuine. Sorry, I'm not serious with the above, but after all the posts to the above (but reverse) effect in the disappointed thread, I had to get this in. :l...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)

I would kill for a final, happier ending for Laura, at least (I do not, at this point, expect her to come back to life). And to get confirmation that folks like Audrey, Shelly and Bobby turned out okay. But I don't think Cooper will ever come back from this even if the show returns. I think one way...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Guys, serious question. As you know I have hated TPTR. I stopped caring about it a long time ago. The ONLY thing I want now is not to have my beloved original TP/FWWM forever tarnished. Shall I just skip the last two episodes (haven't watched yet). From what I've read here and even on the main threa...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

If I could go back and not watch a single episode of TPTR I would do it in a second. The last scene in FWWM was perfect for me. Laura was dead but she had reached some kind of salvation. That was the place to leave it. Cockney 'Awight geeza!' Green Glove Boy didn't really defeat Bob did he? I assume...

No sorry I didn't give context, the quote was zmccain's reaction to the finale.

Haven't seen zmccain post here but I had to post his quote from the main thread just because it made me laugh so much.

"Brilliant!" "Masterful!" "Genius"

Yeah.

We just got fucked in the ass folks.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

It really bugs me when a flawed work like TR which happens to be very ambitious and artful and unconventional gets those really positive reviews - the ones that say basically that this is the ne plus ultra of challenging/non-idiotic TV/cinema/literature/etc, and so unless you're a philistine who ne...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I really liked it, even though I only saw a few seasons. My attitude toward Tony isn't the same as Don or Walter because I feel that he's less self-aware, so to speak, but more importantly, that he's far less of a monster. I feel like Tony is on some kind of path to higher consciousness. Spoilers o...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Side note: I was profoundly disappointed with Mad Men and Breaking Bad because as well crafted as they were, I hated the main characters in both -- absolutely despised them as people -- so being able to care about them and stay invested in what was happening became impossible for me. I never discus...
