Sam Esmail interviews Mark Frost
Sam Esmail, the creator and director of Mr. Robot, interviews Mark Frost: https://soundcloud.com/thetalkhouse/esmail-frost-320 This is as interesting as it sounds, well worth a listen. Frost is surprisingly forthcoming, he drops a lot of details about the creative process behind the return. Or at le...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
I think "disappointed" is officially the wrong term for this thread. If it was just that this thread would have died not long after the series aired. Vitriol is a more apt word. Vitriol is harder to let go of. When I've been disappointed by something I usually let it go and forget about it...

Re: 'Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier' Novel by Mark Frost 10/31 (SPOILERS)
Reading the Annie section made me so pissed...that they didn’t include any of it in S3! Would have been such a killer way to end one of the episodes. I have trouble imagining it working in the show as well as it worked in TFD. The exposition of her repeating the answer over and over again once a ye...

Re: 'Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier' Novel by Mark Frost 10/31 (SPOILERS)
I enjoyed the book, more than TSHoTP which I also enjoyed. I surprised by how many answers it provided, and generally felt what we learned about the fate of the characters was satisfying. The way the "How's Annie?" question was answered was pitch perfect: it was poignant, clever and haunti...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?
One thing that is clear: if the decision has been made to move forward with writing another season, Lynch, Frost, Showtime and whomever else may need to be involved in that process will not publicly give any indication this is happening until the series is officially green lit. (Although according t...

Re: Mother!
Yeah Aronofsky is one of the filmmakers I will always take note when they make a new movie, even something like Noah which normally I'd have no interest in based on the subject and how it was marketed. Can't say that was a high water mark for him, but I thought Mother! was a return to form despite t...

Mother!
I saw this film and the divisive, challenging nature of it really reminded me of the effect the Twin Peaks finale had on the audience. As some of you may know the film made press by becoming a rare film to register an "F" grade with CinemaScore, a company that surveys audiences leaving the...

Re: Theories & Speculation (SPOILERS)
It's interesting that Frost retweeted it. He's pretty judicious about what he tweets about Twin Peaks wise. I don't know what it means. There's not much to compare between the two realities. Cooper and the RR are slightly different. Someone else is living in Laura's house. We don't have much non-tul...

Re: TP:TR. Full 18-hour experience
Wow, I don't know if I can handle this. I've become less of a fan of binging in recent years as I've noticed that shows I watch weekly tend to have a bit more staying power. Episodes feel more distinct rather than blurring together. I tend to feel my focus waning by the time I get to the third or fo...

Re: Different Twin Peaks podcasts
I have mad respect for anyone that puts in the time to produce a podcast and take a look at Twin Peaks. It is a labor of love. The medium is not for everybody. I hardly listened to any other podcasts (or hung out here) during The Return because I wanted to keep my viewpoint my own. Listening to peo...

Re: Mark Frost's Contributions to TP:TR (Speculation)
The Tammy Preston character is interesting to look at if you are trying to parse out the differences between Frost and Lynch, if only because she was the one character featured fairly prominently in both TSHoTP and the new season. The book was written after the scripts were but most of us who read t...

Re: The little girl who lives down the lane (1976 film)
I was curious to check out the film too when I heard the reference. It's quite possible both that film and the TP lines are referencing the nursery rhyme "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep". Baa, baa, black sheep, Have you any wool? Yes, sir, yes, sir, Three bags full; One for the master, And one for ...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?
If there is going to be more I wouldn't expect an announcement for over a year. David Lynch and Mark Frost would be working in secret for a long time before even they would decide it would be worth it to come back.

Re: Different Twin Peaks podcasts
I'd heard that someone on "25 years later" was doing recaps of all the podcasts, and I finally checked out the latest one. Holy crap, there's actually more Twin Peaks Podcasts I haven't heard about than ones I have, let alone listen to. He recapped 34 podcasts on the latest one (and that d...

I'm going to read Frost's next book, but I have to admit I might be looking forward to his promotional interviews more.
