Re: POLL - Do you Like Season Three and How long have you been watching twin peaks.

The Return is my favorite thing I've ever watched. Call it fawning, misguided, fanboyish. But there ya go.

I was only 5 in 1990 but I first watched the series about 12 years ago.

Re: POLL: The Nature of Audrey's Situation (Spoilers)

This is the ultimate anti plot arc of all times. The audience is encouraged to make what they want from it. Anything goes. It would be an interesting narrative experiment in an experimental film. Being part of the Twin Peaks universe, though, it's extremely abstract to be enjoyed, specially since t...

Re: Poll: Do You Understand Now Why S.F. was pissed about her role in The Return?

I understand, but she has much to be proud of. Audrey's arc this season was one of the most talked about and based on the finale, I'd argue one of the most significant. I personally thought it was pretty enthralling and I thought she did a great job.

Re: Annie and Dale

and i think her fate has to remain a mystery ,iff not, hows annie loses it power. Bingo. I like that. For me, the character was introduced so hurriedly and sloppily anyway, that it was clear she was just a blatant means to get the Cooper character into the Lodge. I also thought the character was bo...

Re: So is there anyone else who prefers The Return to the original?

Yes, me. This was the best thing I've watched, i reckon. But I do wish it more heart - lots of Lynch films lack heart, for me. I suppose I was only invested in the TP:TR characters because of the fact I had watched the original.

Re: "Do your palms ever itch?" All things Audrey

I do like though that Audrey still perseveres and gets to the next level of getting out of the trap she's been in for twenty five years. Somebody on Reddit pointed out that Audrey fell so far from getting her dream come true (that scene where she tells Donna in the toilets that Coop will whisk her ...

Re: POLL: The Nature of Audrey's Situation (Spoilers)

I agree. She didn't awake in a hospital or the lodge. Her story was ended, as Charlie had cautioned her he could do. Audrey is non-exist-ent. Both of the above are closest to my take. Within the season, her story is a signpost for the slippery realities and stories of Cooper and Laura, if not the e...

Re: Sabrina Sutherland Reddit AMA on Sun., Sep 10 @ 3PM PT

Strange to be so secretive over who voiced the gumtree / EoTA. Was it perhaps requested by the actor to remain not only uncredited in the series but also in subsequent post-broadcast materials? This is a very shy boy, Will. And she now just said "That is a fair assumption" to someone who ...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)

Have the parallels between Audrey and Carrie Paige been mentioned? - Carrie asks if you 'found him.' Carrie is looking for someone like Audrey was looking for Billy - Audrey choking Charlie and then the dead guy in Carrie's apartment - Carrie wants to grab her coat before she leaves. Audrey kept sa...

Re: CONCLUSIONS... What are yours? (SPOILERS)

If we toss all speculation aside: - Audrey is irrelevant to the overall plot (so is her son - he was there just as another victim of Cooper's Doppel - and the cruelest one, since he's his own son), they are just closing her plotline (might be some meta-commentary as well, but I'm not fond of that k...

Re: Season 3 was incredibly mean-spirited (spoilers)

It's also not in character. By the end of S2, Cooper wasn't exactly obsessed with Laura Palmer. He went into the Black Lodge to save Annie. I don't think the original Dale Cooper would have annihilated the space/time continuum to save Laura, especially given the fact that he "saw" her asc...

Garmonbozia is pain and sorrow. You're thinking of the off brand.
I had a coupon for it.

Re: Gender in Twin Peaks: The Return (SPOILERS)

Did we get any positive images of women at all in TP:TR? I dunno, but I thought Janey-E ended up being nuanced and very likable. I found Janey-E was very superficial, materialistic, (ab)using men for her own gain. She didn't really seem to care about Dougie, or Sonny-Jim, just wanted a new car and ...

(EDIT: Oh, whoops, I think I did this thread wrong; I was just responding to Harry's theories. I'll post more of my original thoughts later. ;)) Great post! Audrey - One of my faves whose subplot I came to love. I also think the randos are actually people we know. I think she's definitely in the Con...
